Pakistan is aware that preparations for a full-fledged nuclear launch cannot go undetected, and that India would target the launch sites. This is why Pakistan developed short-range nuclear weapons, intended for use within its own territory in the event of an Indian invasion

The mere existence of nuclear weapons within a country is deterrent enough. Constantly chest thumping and acting like a rabid dog won't give anybody any significant advantage or any upper hand compared to the current policy. Look at the Russians threatening nukes on Europe every week, has that stopped any of the NATO countries from providing aid to Ukraine? Has that stopped Russian conscripts from dying in some blasted ditch in the middle of nowhere? No amount of chimping out will achieve anything unless you back it up by restarting nuclear weapons testing.

Short range nuclear weapons? They have Shaheen III which can cover pretty much all of India. I think you're confusing lower yield for short range. They mostly have tactical nukes after all, if our understanding is correct.
 
What are chances this attack was response to Baloch train hijack. Not that we did it, but our people were happy, and it could have been perceived as ours.

Agree with everything, but USSR (and Russia since it inherited the arsenal) has tested massive MT nukes and have it clearly spelled out their doctrine. They define their red lines and are willing to use them when they think it is appropriate, no ifs buts or preconditions. The world is convinced and there is nothing to reiterate.

Putin and NATO are playing a dangerous game of bluff, but I dare say NATO will not put boots on ground purely because of Ruski nukes. If not for them, no matter how good a conventional power Russia is, there would have been "peacekeepers" by now.

range of a missile becomes irrelevant when the opponent has the capability to strike the launch site itself.

Bhai, we are not a expeditionary war fighting nation. All of this goes back to how our country was set up and how we won our independence. Everything that follows, whether its our foreign policy or military doctrine is a consequence of that original sin. Understand that this mindset shapes our elite, how they think and how they act.

Imo, There's only one man who should take immense blame for this and it is that coward MKG(could use choicer adjectives here as my hatred and dislike for him is extreme, but trying to keep it clean). He along with his chosen minions who were installed as leaders of the nation have poisoned the minds of millions with his ideology.

Anyway, I've made peace with it over the years. Maybe our children and grandchildren will fix this mess we inherited, or maybe they won't. Who knows?

Worse, Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej are rivers exclusive for Indian use under IWT. It shouldn't be going to Fuckistan in the first place.

Nobody is against scrapping/pausing IWT. Everyone is pissed because it's being touted as befitting reply when it'll only come to play a decade later.

By that time, any paki pasand govt like Congress can literally stop the projects. We need things that hurt them right now.

Agreed with this. The foundational philosophy of the country is defensive and reactionary rather than proactive and expeditionary. It's the reason why we get attacked rather than us taking the fight towards the enemy. Porkis wouldn't have gotten their nukes if we were proactive and expeditionary. We would've pulled what israel is doing, constantly denying the weapons, and probably splitting up that hellhole a long time ago.

But we aren't, and I'm afraid that isn't going to change. That ideology is a part of the psyche now. We will do chest thumping now, but we could've prevented the whole scenario decades back. Now we can only build up and prepare to fight against the Chinese and the porks at the same time. Perhaps at that time we take the right call and put an end to this
