IWT is great, Im not even asking water to be stopped immediately, but my cynicism is telling me pissistan pooing itself all over is to calm Indians nerves, make them(us) feel they took revenge. Without much losses on their side. If all they had to do was shit themselves to get out of retaliation, theyd do it. I suspect this is what is happening

yes of course gormint is doing this to calm the nerves, it's not even been 48 hours since the massacre. we have enough .5 political opportunists lurking around us, who are so blinded by political/ideological hatred that they'd rather see the country burn itself just so that their favourite people come to power.

you may not be among the set of people where IWT is sufficient, but there will be crores of other regular people in the country for whom this is enough to calm their nerves.

Worse, Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej are rivers exclusive for Indian use under IWT. It shouldn't be going to Fuckistan in the first place.

It's just upholding the treaty. Previous govts were incompetent as shit at best, open Paki lovers at worst. This one is mostly smoke and mirrors. It's like those linkedIN people and middle managers discovering 'quick wins' by virtue of sophistry.

We had control over the three eastern rivers under IWT. Had there been no IWT (like it is now)- we would have to let go of the river water as Pakistan is a lower riparian country.

Now what has happened- We still control eastern rivers, have built whatever we want, will continue building (fait accompli)
On top of it, we will now build on western rivers as well and divert water as per our reasonable use.

Ya'll Nibbiars By 2028 both Chenab and Jhelam water can be diverted, 3 dams on Chenab with 5 U/C need to just extent two existing canale to divert water from this rivers, Ravi, Sutlej, Beas already under control, little can he done about Indus for now.

The Tulbul Barrage Project on Wular for Jhelam and Ranbir Canal for Chenab need to be extended.

New dams are being constructed on chenab river at ranbir canal. so we are going to divert it just by extending it.

Nothing like that is gonna happen IWT is just under temporary suspension. Kaha se late ho aisa delusion Pakistan is no pussy like us if we stop water they will start a war ASAP even go nuclear.

yea IWT dictates what we can build on these rivers , what type of dam , specifics etc . building anything which will violate it is as good as withdrawing from it .

Even political parties, people living inside try to compromise India 24*7.. what's the point of blaming Modi? At least his intention is honest. He has almost wiped out Naxalism, multiple separatist movements taking the last toll, has taken initiative to solve Kashmir, taken initiative on border fencing. It won't happen in a day. People are so weird. Kashmir won't become perfect even in a decade. It's a 75 years of blunder but it's in the right direction.

a few years ago, all our news channels were discussing IWT, i forget the reason. do you recall what was the conclusion of all that debate, some experts were showing some clause/international law that can be used to invalidate IWT.

IWT suspension can be take its own time to materiaialize but its not going to help eradicate terrorirism coming from pakistan any time soon. This low life scumbags will keep enroaching, the radical mullahs in pak will try to bleed our nation until they are uprooted permanently, we would be losing soldiers and civilians. If it never happens now they will target civilians in other parts of the country
