Any act of violence can be a trap.. You know that right.. Tommorow.. Yunus might slap Vishwa Guru.. and it might be a trap, to trick India into invading Bangladesh.. and in the chaos, hordes of Kanglus rush into India, to realise their 500 year project of Greater Bonga bhosadistan...
Dhoti shivering at it's finest.
Finest silk dhoti, violent shivering!

One thing I gotta say about Kashmir though.

Post 370 all the stone pelting, processions etc have stopped. Only Pakistani backed terror groups.

Cinema halls have opened up and the triclour flies high over Lal Chowk which was not even possible back in the day.

It seems that there has been some exchange of fire between the air forces of Pakistan and India, and India has suffered losses, so their senior air force officials have been replaced.

I have always had confidence in Pakistan's air force. They have 36 J10-c and 50 JF-17 Block-3 fighter jets, both of which are equipped with China's active phased array radar and Thunderbolt 15E long-range air-to-air missiles. India only has 36 Rafale fighter jets equipped with active phased array radar, and China's Thunderbolt 15 long-range missile has a better range than the Meteor missile carried by Rafale.

Previously, news reports showed that in the simulated confrontation between Pakistan's JF-17 Block-3 and Qatar's Rafale, Pakistan's air force won 6-2. I hope Pakistan can take down a few Rafale fighter jets, which will greatly expand the international market for Chinese fighter jets.

Has this wumao passed the Gaokao or was he recommended to the MSS because his uncle is a CCP functionary? @rockdog

Daily reminder especially to those who're new here . Our resident wumaos regularly used this handle's tweets as source material.

Any act of violence can be a trap..

Precisely why it's important to take time and think before reacting emotionally.

Yunus might slap Vishwa Guru.. and it might be a trap, to trick India into invading Bangladesh.. and in the chaos, hordes of Kanglus rush into India, to realise their 500 year project of Greater Bonga bhosadistan...

Why would anyone waste time invading them? Just bomb them to oblivion and get back to business as usual.

General Padmanabhan, Operation Parakram and Plan to Destroy the Pakistan Army
-----------------------------------------------------
- Read an excellent post yesterday on General Padmanabhan.
- Those of use who're old enough, remember him thundering in a press conference that if Pakistan uses nuclear weapons against India, it will be wiped off from the face of the Earth.
- Let me tell you another story when General Padmanabhan did something unprecedented, something which had never been done before, and something so bold that it shook the very foundations of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army.
- We all know that Op Parakram was initiated a complete mobilization of the Indian Armed Forces post December 2001 attack on the Indian parliament.
- When the Indian Army mobilized, its three main Strike Corps (1, 2 and 21 Strike Corps) mobilized towards their traditional/expected hunting grounds.
---------------
- Early 2002 (Pathankot - Sambha-Jammu Sector)
- If you remember your military history and geography and especially 1965 War, you'll know that India is very vulnerable in the stretch between Pathankot in south and Jammu towards north.
- This is because the Jammu-Pathankot Road very close to the international border and we don't have much depth here.
- If Pakistan makes a dash in this sector and interdicts this road, then we'll lose access to Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh through this axis.
- Ergo, to ensure safety of this corridor and to give it depth, India would go on offensive towards Sialkot to put Pakistan on back foot.
- This is what we did in 1965 war.
- MAP_01 shows the geography of this sector, the roads, their depth from IB and possible Pakistani lines of attack here.
- In early 2002, Army's 1 Strike Corps was positioned in this sector to take the war into Pakistan from here.
-------------
Early - 2002 (Southern Punjab and Rajasthan Sector)
- In the Southern Punjab and Rajasthan sector of India, we've 4 x Corps.
- Two of these are Pivot Corps (this term came later after Op Parakram and after changes made from learnings of Op Parakram) and the other two are Strike Corps.
- These are Bhatinda based 10 Corps and Jodhpur based 12 Corps (Pivot Corps).
- Strike Corps are Ambala based 2 Strike Corps and Bhopal based 21 Strike Corps.
- 21 Strike Corps and 12 Corps came under Southern Command while 10 Corps and 2 Strike Corps came under Western Command.
- In the north (southern Punjab and northern Rajasthan), you had 10 Corps and 2 Strike Corps together while in the south (central and southern Rajasthan) you had 12 Corps and 21 Strike Corps.
- See Map_02 to understand the above.

---------------------
Mid-2002

- Well, things changed very dramatically in by mid-2002.
- The Indian Army moved about 2.5 divisions from North-East/Eastern Command to western theater.
- Even 3 Corps HQ moved towards west and it was made responsible for the Pathankot-Jammu corridor.
- What happened to 1 Strike Corps and the 33rd Armored Division under its command?
- Well, this is where it got very interesting and very bold.
- After reinforcing Pathankot-Sambha-Jammu sector with division(s) from the East along with a dedicated Corps, General Padmanabhan moved 1 Strike Corps and its 33rd Armored Division to Central Rajasthan Sector.
- See Map-03 to understand the deployment.
- Now, you need to understand that between 10 Corps, 2 Strike Corps, 33rd Armored Division (under 1 Strike Corps), 21 Strike Corps and 12 Corps resides the bulk of the Indian Army's tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.
- General Padmanabhan had assembled the biggest ever concentration of mechanized units in the plains and desert sector against Pakistan.
- On the Pakistani side, there were 4 x Corps which included their Multan based 2 Strike Corps (Army Reserve South) with armored and mechanized divisions.
- While these Pakistani Corps also had substantial armor and APCs amongst them, the concentration on the Indian side was so large, that it created very skewed ratios in India's favor.
- Going by the deployment pattern, General Padmanabhan was not only going to strike deep into Pakistan, but he wanted to engage the Pakistan's premier Strike Corps (2 Corps) which held Pakistan Army's substantial fighting potential.
- He wanted to engage with the Pakistan Army and attrition and destroy its fighting potential.
- This was such an unprecedented and bold deployment that the Pakistanis were completely unnerved.
- There was no way in hell that the Pakistan Army could've stopped this massive Indian Army juggernaut of tanks, IFVs and artillery.
- General Padmanabhan did what had never even been war-gamed earlier, forget doing it on ground.
- He was fully prepared to take the battle deep into the enemy's territory and in the process, destroy the enemy' fighting potential for a long time to come.
- This was the genius of General Padmanabhan.
- The political leadership decided not to exercise the military option. General Padmanabhan had given them options and a very bold action plan to sort out Pakistan for good for a long time.
-----------------------------------------------------

[PS: Maps show very broad level deployment pattern for indicative purpose only]
[PS2: There is a lot of uninformed commentary on Op Parakram, mainly by foreign defense analysts but most of it suffers from lack of depth about military aspect of the mobilization and focuses only on the political aspect]
[PS3: Noone says this, but my reading is that we were a hair's breadth away from an all-out war]

For those who came in late or those who've forgotten Operation Parakram, Rohit Vats on his perspective on how we were a hair's breath away from a war against Paxtan in spite of their Nuclear sabre rattling.

He's not talking about war. Punitive retaliatory actions. Any competent military/civil leadership would have had plans already prepared. Obviously we don't have competent leadership in this country.

you mean prepare plans, plans loaded, ships ready, military at the border, supply chains fully on etc etc

great, which country went to war with another nuclear country on a whim, let us know

Pakistan shaken by Modi actions without firing a bullet

Is Modi waiting for the right moment to strike or is he exerting psychological pressure on a Jihadi nation to let them feel the pressure and when they get tired with the pressure then strike and extract a price for all the terror acts of the past?

Modi has already shaken Pakistan by suspending the Indus Water Treaty. Stopping or holding the Indus water is 5-10 years away but it has already made the farmers and large land holders very nervous. Next, with US support, block off all the IMF and Other world financial institutions money to starve Pakistan of cash. That activity may take six months to a year as funding already approved will be hard to stop but say goodbye to future funding.

Modi already has all the Kashmiris on his side. The attack on tourists has killed the tourist trade and livelihood of a big percentage of urban Kashmiris who depended on it. In addition a lot of over ground workers for the terrorists whose other income was tourism will find it hard to replace this income hence may stop being behind the scene terrorist supporters.

Again Modi and the Indian Defence Forces with their aggressive posture are working to exhaust Pakistani capability to fight. Their fuel for aircrafts which are continuously on combat air patrol is not infinite. It costs money to replace it, which they don’t have. Spare parts needed are difficult to come by if you don’t pay cash in advance. The Chinese who are supplying them drones, and other military hardware like tank and artillery and specialized ammunition are keeping full account of it. Now Chinese under American trade pressure will not be as generous to keep on supply everything free of cost. They will demand money or any other surety for their supply.

Turkey is cash first and then supply.

Hence, the Indian public opinion is waiting that what is going on about the retaliation. I believe, Modi is exerting indirect pressure, brining local and outside parties on his side, also tiring the Pakistani Army, Air Force and Navy waiting for the retaliation to start. When it starts, Pakistan is sufficiently tired to offer no big resistance.

Paxtan Army has resorted to unprovoked small arms firing in Uri, Kupwara & Akhnoor sector. Intense firing at leepa valley, IA fired multiple flares after suspected movements near the border

One thing I gotta say about Kashmir though.

Post 370 all the stone pelting, processions etc have stopped. Only Pakistani backed terror groups.

Cinema halls have opened up and the triclour flies high over Lal Chowk which was not even possible back in the day.
Someone posted a link to some stats one time showing how many soldiers and civilians have died in Kashmir each year due to terror attacks. It was amazing how safe the Modi era has been compared to the past. Yet people still blame him for all the ills.

The last 20 years of dead due to terror in Kashmir is probably less than 1 year of dead in Balochistan or KPK.

Muslim immigrants kill 100+ Europeans each year in Western Europe. Their favorite method these days seems to be cars and vans running over crowds. With knife attacks in second place. They seem to have lost interest in bombmaking.

How are these..what we call as "unproveked ceasefire violations" reported in Paki media or Paki Defense forums? Do they claim that their army is attacking Indian positions? Or it was UCV by India which they responded or they just do a blackout?
Sub Question - How do we know that it is started by them and not us? As I understand what media reports is what Army tells them..Shiv Aroor is not sitting at a forward position to see who started it.
