Germany itself has F126 and F127 projects for 10k ton destroyers lined up and the latter is supposed to be for "global" missions, France is planning a next gen aircraft carrier, the Royal Navy is already producing new ships, Italians are planning a 10k ton destroyer.

All these will take 10-15 years to fructify, ready in time to defend Taiwan possibly

It won't take much from the Euros to contain Russia, however they are the excuse for build up and increased defense budget, me thinks the build up is aimed to help US defend Taiwan in reality.


It could also be even our security establishment knows what this "hard block" is, so that is why they are chilled out viz arms build up against China

realistically i don't think outsiders can defend taiwan. if chin does a full scale invasion, taiwan will fall in matter of months if not weeks, since it is an island which can be blockaded unlike ukraine.

but once taiwan invasion happens, it gives an excuse for murica and their allies to increase their military assets in cold war defensive posture around china. this period last time with USSR lasted a few decades.

for now, i think this period is what goras are preparing for, not a hot war.

so yes, same time period as you mentioned, but for a different purpose.

Unfortunately Taiwan ass whooping will occur and Western countries will end up giving pressers for some time. Taiwan strait is narrow and at max it is an 150-300Km range.

PLAN will protect the island chain to defer western ships. While Taiwan will get hammered by Rocket force, PLAAF continuously. Adding salt to the wound, their entire population exists on Western side facing China. Their eastern side is sparsely populated due to rugged terrain. It is geographically crippled like Pakistan.

Also, most of Chinese military hardware is proven to be inadequate (Operation Sindoor) hence the Chinese invasion may fail.
