The Laptop that I will be using doesn't need to have a lot of storage, I actually don't need much space on it, I have an external pendrive for that which I maintain very well. Also I don't need to do very advanced modeling as in the sense to pay a lot of attention towards the absolute details, something more superficial will do. I can't get a desktop since it will restrict my portability. Also I am not a heavy user. I will be using it once in a while for some tasks, maybe an hour or two daily at the very most or maybe more if I have some more work on it.

Budget ko 50000 crores kar detha ho.:troll:
Now we are talking:)
venom tech dekh le, koi latest laptop mat lena, not worth the cost
go for 1-2 year old ones

Was googling and just found this, 16GB RAM/ 512GB SSD, 1080P display, intel processor

AMD processor ones seem to be cheaper by 10k but with sem2sem other specs

Do some digging about the processors yourself to make a choice

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing all well and fine! I have come here to ask for some technical advice pertaining to the purchase of an electronic item. I didn't know any other thread to ask this question so I came to the Chit Chat thread.

From what I understand is that many/some members on this forum have very good knowledge and background in computers, computer science, computer engineering, laptops, desktops, PCs in general, applications like MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word etc.

So I want some advice on buying a laptop💻. My budget is around Rs.40,000 to maybe Rs. 50,000. Preferably from brands like H.P. or DELL. So this laptop will be used by me (as I am a student and a laptop can come in very handy to handle a lot of tasks) and my mother too as she wants to use it for her own work. Most of the time it will be used by me and secondly my own mother. My mother says she wants to use it for trading and viewing the stock market LOL, alongside some other tasks too.

So what do I expect/want from my laptop 💻? Let me list some of them.

As someone who is a fervent defence and STEM enthusiast, I like to read & learn a lot about missile systems, aviation, warships, tanks, guns, space missions, spacecrafts, Astronomy, Biology, and so much more, I have always wanted to try my hands at making 3D models of things like below.

Like said before, I want to create 3D models of aircraft, warships, missiles, spaceships, architecture, robots etc.

A lot of people have suggested me to use a very popular software called Blender. Through Blender one can do a lot, and not just be limited to 3D modeling. Through Blender we can a wide variety of tasks like Animation, Visual effects, Game Development, Rendering, simulation, video editing, 3D printing (One can 3D Print his/her own Design!) etc.

But if my memory serves me right then I remember someone (Who has his own laptop) personally telling me that it's a very heavy software and that not many laptops can handle Blender properly without getting hanged or the device crashing constantly. So I will be using Blender once in a while or maybe even a lot but not at hours at a stretch daily. So I am afraid that my laptop within a budget of Rs 40000 - Rs 50000 will not be able to handle it or maybe I am wrong? Are there H.P or DELL laptops (or other PC Brand) which can handle an advanced software such as Blender comfortably without any arising issues? I hope I can get come confirmation on this.

Also I want to use this Laptop to learn coding languages at home like Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C# etc. There are materials available online to the common netizen in the form of online videos 🖥️, tutorials, apps, Books 📚 by many reputed authors, Coding teachers, online sites and more. So I want to use my laptop for learning coding which I am confident I will be able to do so on a laptop of this budget range.

Also it should last for a long time, at least 8-10 years at maximum. I am aware that I have to take good care of the laptop such as routine maintenance, downloading of anti-virus software, cleaning dust that may settle over it, storing it in a cool and dry place, making sure that it doesn't fall down or has some liquid like water fall onto it. I will do my part, rest depends on the quality of the device.

But overall I am sure that my laptop will be able to handle almost every task I throw at it, but the part that is bothering me is the use of blender, will it be able to run it or not? That's my concern. Maybe I will have to pay a visit to my nearby electronics retail center and check out what models are there. I hope someone can give me some good advice on a good model which can fit all the criteria I have listed.

@Bhartiya Sainik sir you have mentioned that you are from IT sector and did computer engineering, maybe you can help me.
Your response will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.🙏🏻

Blender team has listed requirements here:

Blender can do multiple things, starting from just the basic design, parts movement & i guess some animation also.
So if you want max capability then 6GB GPU minimum is suggested. In 2023 i checked such a laptop was Rs 1 to 1.5 lakhs.

I don't have experience with 3D S/w. I myself wanted to learn Blender. But my 2 laptops are 17-18 years old running 32-bit Win-7:wtfcat::faint::gtfo: I changed their screen, RAM, HDD, few time but their motherboards are still holding, that's important,
While current Blender needs 64-bit H/w & OS.
Blender had previous versions too, so i had to try installing every previous version & V2.76 succeeded.
I've not started to use it but i hope i can do basic model.
AUTO-CAD is another popular old S/w for architecture.

So my point is that an old laptop & a new but economical laptop till Rs 50K should be able to do basic stuff.

THANK YOU very much for your responses everyone! I really appreciate it! SHUKRIYA!🙏🏻

So I have made my decision. At the moment, I will probably stick to using a very simple and watered down version of Blender which can run on the laptop which I am going to buy, just very basic 3D modeling (And when I say "Basic", I do mean ABSOLUTE BASICS) because I have almost no experience in the field of 3D modeling and associated softwares. If I can't use Blender in any way, then it's totally fine.
Nevertheless I will still stick to my stipulated budget of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000, I cannot go more than that.
At the moment I will settle for a good laptop in this budget only which will hopefully last me for at least for the next 7-8 years or maybe even 10 years if I take really good care of it. I checked up online about whether or not I can learn coding on a budget laptop💻 and the good news is YES I CAN! It's a very useful thing to learn coding in today's age, since I am planning on learning basic robotics at home as an enthusiast, learning coding 💻will help me immensely since coding is necessary in robotics 🤖 , actually to learn coding as a beginner this laptop will be more than enough. In Price range of around Rs. 30,000, there are laptops available online with powerful enough processors, for learning coding while atleast a 8GB RAM is recommended, even 4GB is enough for beginners so I am sure that a Laptop in the price range that I am looking for will be more than enough to handling the coding tasks with its RAM. Also I want to use my laptop for designing infographics, charts, making great PowerPoint presentations, writing articles, maybe even writing a book 📚 📖 and so many more things, not being able to use blender wouldn't mean the end of the world! Anyways I will research a bit more and select a cheap, affordable but well built model in this price range. Thank you once again!
