here we would post news related to passing away of our soldiers in ci/ct operations or terror strikes .The thread is news only to keep a good record of casualties

As of now through Open Sources and Media Organisations we now
1 Indian Army Soldier has attained Veergati.
4 Indian Army Personnel are injured including 1 Major Ranked Officer
1 Pakistani BAT/SSG/ARMY Infiltrator Killed
(Official confirmation still awaited)
Weapon recovered from the killed infiltrator

Infiltration Bid Foiled by Border Security Force.
Location-Khoda Post in the Ghagwal sector,Samba
In the intervening night of 31 July/1 Aug the BSF troops observed a suspicious movement across the IB in Samba border area & an intruder was observed approaching toward BSF fence, the alert troops neutralised the intruder & thwarted the infiltration attempt.

J&K Security Forces Casualty Statistics for 2024

Jan 2024- 0 KIA

Feb 2024- 0 KIA

A.4th May 2024- On May 4, a soldier was killed and four others were injured when militants ambushed a convoy of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Bakrabal Mohalla near Sanai in Surankote Tehsil in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

Jun 2024- 0 KIA

Jul 2024- 14 KIA

A.6th Jul 2024- On July 6, an Army personnel, identified as Sepoy Pawan of 1-Para of the Army was killed in an encounter between Security Forces (SFs) and militants in Modergam area in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

B.6th July 2024- Another encounter which began on July 6 in Chinigam area in Frisal Town in Kulgam District, four militants and soldier were killed.


C.8th July 2024-On July 8, five Army troopers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer, were killed and many were injured in a terrorist attack on an army truck, involving a grenade and gunfire, on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar Road near Badnota village in Lohai Malhar


D.16th July 2024-Four army personnel, including an officer, succumbed to their injuries on July 16 following a gunfight with heavily-armed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the Desa Forest belt of Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).



E.23rd July 2024-On July 23, an Army trooper, identified as Lance Naik Subash Kumar succumbed to his injuries while thwarting an infiltration attempt of terrorists along the Line of Control (LOC) in Battal area of Krishna Ghati belt, located in Mehdhar tehsil (revenue unit) in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)


F.24th July 2024-On July 24, Naik Dilwar Khan (28), an Army trooper, succumbed to injuries sustained in an encounter with terrorists in the Lolab area in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)


G.27th July 2024-On July 27, three Army troopers were injured in an exchange of fire with terrorists near Kumkadi post along the Line of Control (LoC) near Trehgam tehsil (revenue unit) in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Five soldiers were injured in the encounter and one of them later succumbed to his injuries

A. 10th Aug 2024-On August 10, two Army personnel were killed and two civilians were injured in an encounter between Security Forces (SFs) and militants in Ahlan area of Kokernag in Anantnag District of Jammu and Kashmir.

B. 14th Aug 2024-On August 14, an Army Captain, identified as Deepak Singh and an unidentified terrorist was killed in the ongoing gunfight and recovered one AK-47 and M4 rifle in the Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
