Probably.Perhaps the order is for local manufacture?
Doesn't these engines fit in Tejas??Why not get the AL-41??
Should select Tonbo Imaging. Also DAS or IRST? Maybe on top encased in Stealth is more of a concern than EOTS. Since the former is necessary in Air 2 Air Combat.ITS CONFIRMED drdo is developing conformal EOTS for amca.

It will have dual band HD sensor
RAM dome & special coating on sapphire windows for reduction of RCS.
Nah, they're for heavy fighters (or medium, if you use only one).Doesn't these engines fit in Tejas??
The dimensions of that engine don’t fit into Tejas engine bayNah, they're for heavy fighters (or medium, if you use only one).
I know, bruv. The dimensions of that engine don’t fit into Tejas engine bay
Cost, current tooling & manufacturing practices will have to be altered and all aircraft will have to be re-certified which will only add to delays. Why not get the AL-41??
These are not something ARDE is working on, it's rather like an unrelated "descriptive research" we all used to add in our dissertation report to reach the minimum words limit. Remember we're a very budget constrained R&D institution, we take up research only when we're asked by the end users.
But the extra 40 kN wet-thrust from a slightly lighter engine is worth it.Cost, current tooling & manufacturing practices will have to be altered and all aircraft will have to be re-certified which will only add to delays.
Arey delay to pahele hi ho chuka hai, we waited this long, how much worse can another one or two years be??Cost, current tooling & manufacturing practices will have to be altered and all aircraft will have to be re-certified which will only add to delays.
