also adding it here that, I'm not really sure which gun/howitzer goes on ATHOS, but i very well remember that their Soltam Rascal howitzer literally went "fatt ke flower ho jana" during test here in scorching heats of Rajasthan, even a local gujju newspaper covered it in brief in comparing to Dhanush 155mm/45 cal during its trial days - so if it's same or similar Rascal with Elbit provided autoloaders + components on ATHOS...bhagwan hi bachaye fir toh 🤷‍♂️

Coming from a media which interacts with government and tries to put government perception also which is necessary in today's world where communist filths and sellout media double fiths are already roaming around.

It's important to note that Atags has travelled already in hairpin roads of sikkim. Sikkim, I can say for sure is certainly less developed than Ladakh as of now.If atags can go to the strategic point there in Sikkim which army point out is necessary then I don't understand why it can't travel to other strategic points.

I want to ask them, how they plan to move then Zorawar tank at front which weighs well above 20 tons? Or are they IMPORT ARMY guys saying Zorawar tanks carriers or trailers would not travel to hairpin roads or tight canyons of Ladakh?

Again, everyone who knows how much important an indigenous system is necessary for a self respected nation, should be pushing IMPORT ARMY higher ups lobby to the side and push for more 307 guns of ATAGS as a repeat order.

Each and every deployment success in Ladakh and frontier areas in future should be pushed by PATRIOTIC and HISTORY MINDED guys at top as a necessary case for repeat order of ATAGS.

IMPORT ARMY will definitely try to limit ATAGS to plain areas, government should never let these IVY LEAGUE for their children sellouts to succeed.

Because being a mountain lover who has travelled to the far flung areas, I can certainly says WEIGHT lobby is working full time to denounce indigenous and better alternatives and the pictures that they show where ATAGS gun has to travel for it to be inducted, I want to tell them, whom are they fooling? only IFG 105mm gun can travel there, not even their ATHOOOS can, hell not even bofors can.

Let me add a few words to this. Any military personnel sending their kids to top institutes in America/UK should be scrutinized under a microscope. Any general staff officer settling their kids abroad should be demoted immediately, pending a potential discharge if an investigation regarding corruption and bribery proves to be fruitful. Investigation should be conducted, not by MPs, but agencies ran by the civilian bureaucracy. In case of a large scandal, move the case to a civilian court. The "Getting away with it, behind closed doors" needs to end.​

There is a ounce of truth to Wignats screaming these creatures are indeed 2-faced mfs and can never be trusted ever.

What about MFSTAR Radar Or Barak-8? Their cheap Indigenous options are progressing as if they are intentionally being obstructed.

If not for H@m@s diverting these creatures, we would had hard time here.

According to ddr atags was ready to be put into production 5 years back. He was told by drdo & pvt sector involved. This was the most echoed opinion there

Key points from recent iah
Many bridges in border areas were rated for 15tons at some point in the bridge (Maybe in the middle) so atags overweight issue was genuine as it can't be transported there. And that being said barrels need to be replaced every 2500 rounds. So it complicated.
Contrary to this former CEO rahul chaudhry said bridges are rated for 20 tons I don't know whom to beleive.

Let's come to gernails.
If they had set up requirements. They would definitely have had a idea or drdo would have atleast projected how much atags would weigh. So isn't this a sheer incompetence from army brass ? Didn't They knew that bridges are rated for 15tons (if they are, we don't know for sure ) couldn't they have set the requirements to make a 15 ton gun..
This was perfect hit job in order to derail atags in future. Atleast I think so.
And another thing is they didn't come up with this overweight thing 5 years ago since last 5 yrs it's induction has been derailed. this weight thing came last year. were ok with electric drive & weight till 202 (2023?). Then wanted hydraulics/under 15t all of a sudden.

But the capability addition you have with atags is unmatchable. Hitting 48km with base bleed which will go even further in mountains is worth it to buy towing vehicles capable of towing 18.tons.
Imagine it would hit at 60km (as per former tasl ceo) in high altitudes so it wouldn't be require to deploy that away.
this is just an excuse and how much will a. Truck cost ? Not as much as artillery. And atags doesn't cost as much as m777 you know it's fairly competitive this is just an excuse not a genuine reason. Even the bridge limitation thing comes out true we should still induct atags in good number as we don't have to fight only in mountains.

If the big brains in IA can fund billions for a few Apaches, they can fund the acquisition of required trucks. The bridges excuse is cope. Bridges can be remade as per specifications. There is no intent.

What exactly is his problem that he's defending the indefensible IA position as if he was part of the decision making process is something only he can answer !

Anyway he's rightfully drawing brickbats from his BRF gang on X & other defence aficionados too.

To sums up well who is at fault.

Army gave comic verse requirements with weight limit of 15 tons which isn't possible. That being said if they continued to work along with weight going up means they assured orders as those comic verse features were given priority over weight increase,otherwise program would have been shut down and new system would have been made to meet 15ton requirements that didn't happen.

And now we got 307 orders.

were ok with electric drive & weight increase for this long then why all of sudden realised under 15ton requirement is must if this was must a parallel program to the atags should have been started way back, addressing both comic verse requirements and the weight thing too but that didn't happen either.

So yeah here we are in a limbo our system is dumb asf. Sheer incompetence and nothing and now they want athos like there isn't bharat 52.
forget dhanush if they can't deliver on time.

some generic gyan from my side..

like every other high value turnkey engineering project, this entire episode will look silly once process and all round multi-domain expertise gets established within the system.

both IA and DRDO, for them to get from here
