DRDO and PSUs

Forgot the main sub-system
Ew suite
Saab idas
It hasn't been integrated yet
correct me if i'm wrong, but haven't we installed SAAB IDAS EW suite on Rudra helicopters already? then have we not yet integrated it on LCH Prachand yet?! are we aiming for any other, either indigeneous or imported, ew suite for LCH Prachand, that SAAB IDAS is sidelined, or something else?

The few lsp delivered lacked ew systems as drdo is making an indigeneous one for it. If we can make ew suit for Tejas why can't for a Helo.
We have 3 yrs of time for the sp lch delivery begins , enough time for those things, hope lch get an indigenous rocket Nd indigenous a2a short ranged missile based on mpdms,
Based on mpatgm? Ig vshorad.

Yeah saab idas was much easier option as it was already integrated on rudra but now they're making indigeneous one for lch. I suppose not just ew but also sub systems like lwr, flare & chaff dispenser will be indigeneous.
The lsp's where 45% indigeneous there were some reports hal is aiming for 65% indigenisation.

Also last year a news came out that drdo is working on its 20mm turret gun for lch. Ig initial lot might have nexter gun then later on all might have indigeneous one. If they start delivery quite fast. Otherwise if they take usual time who knows we can have our 20mm turret gun.

Gems of babu! Cost us leakage of 20TB of sensitive data.
Since the alleged Babu is highly ranked I am sure he will be let off with a warning

China-Indonesia nexus.

These mofos leaked KF-21 plans from South Korea. Meanwhile we are running with our tails wagging to handover BrahMos missile tech for local production.

Massive DRDO Data Leak, nearly 20 TB of Data on Sale

In Short
• Data leak includes DRDO information, posing security risks
• Ransomware group Babuk Locker 2.0 claims responsibility of leak
• Data linked to former Defence Ministry official Puneet Agarwal

A tranche of sensitive defence data – that includes engineering design of a weapon, details of a new Air Force facility, procurement plans, and India’s strategic collaborations with other countries – was allegedly stolen by a hacker group and put on sale.
The leaked data belongs to the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), a government agency which doesn’t even allow scientists and staff to carry their personal mobile phones inside certain premises.
The data appeared to have been stolen from the device of a former Defence Ministry official, as per an analysis by cybersecurity firm Athenian Tech. It also included evacuation protocols for the President, the Prime Minister and other VVIPs in case of an aerial attack, posing a serious national security risk.

DRDO officials, however, have denied any breach of the data of the defence research organisation. They said that the data didn't belong to their organisation. However, they didn't provide any further clarification about the alleged leak.

A SERIOUS BREACH
The leak was announced by ransomware group Babuk Locker 2.0 on March 10, 2025. The group said it had exfiltrated 20 terabytes of data from DRDO’s systems, including classified defence documents and a vast repository of credential logs. It publicly released 753 MB of the data leak sample.

Among other sensitive information, the sample also included files related to upgradation of T9 Bhishma Tank and contains details about India’s defence collaborations with countries such as Finland, Brazil, and the United States of America.

Athenian Tech released screenshots of their chat with Babuk Locker 2.0 showing the hackers conversing in Indonesian language, indicating that they could potentially belong to Indonesia.

After an analysis, the firm, however, concluded that the ransomware group’s claims about the scale of the breach could be exaggerated. Its report said much of the leaked data appeared to be linked to Puneet Agarwal, who served as Joint Secretary in the Defence Ministry between 2019 and 2021. Details of his Aadhaar, financial records and personal travel documents were present in the leaked data, suggesting the breach didn’t stem from DRDO’s core IT infrastructure.

SECURITY IMPLICATIONS
Given its sensitive nature, the data leak raises urgent concerns about cybersecurity vulnerabilities, insider threats, and the resilience of India’s critical defence infrastructure against sophisticated cyber adversaries.

"The exposure of confidential defence files — even from a single system — highlights an urgent need for stringent cybersecurity measures, improved access controls, and proactive monitoring to prevent further exposures of critical defence data," said the report.

The presence of sensitive defence files on a personal system indicates potential lapses in endpoint security, inadequate data handling policies or their implementation, and the risks posed by officials storing sensitive information outside secured networks.

The security implication could be severe if the hackers indeed had access to the credential repository. Credentials could be misused to further gain access to other systems and sensitive data.

Apparently Agni-5 data is part of the leak

Quite amazed and suprised to know that the kalyani Marg the mgs uses ulh gun and not the bharat 52s with 39cal barrel.
So we already have a ulh proven n ready in production that too in various variants with stainless steel weighing 6.8ton titanium weighing 4.8 tons
The above mentioned are 155/39cal guns.
While recently in Feb they unveiled same gun with 45 cal. Also as per there press release in Feb it can fire beyond 36km using CONVENTIONAL ammunition
Also mentioned can fire zone 6 charge.
Mounted on marg system and the mgs exported to armenia is the above mentioned one with 39cal barrel. Another impressive thing abt it is that it's the only 155/52cal artillery gun mounted on 4x4 truck which weighs just 18 tons. 72 such were exported for 2.15 million dollars each.
And also forgot to mention they have ulh er which is ulh with 52 cal barrel.
So bf has 39/45/52 cal barrels for both bharat series as well as ulh series artillery guns. While mounted gun systems have 39cal along with 45cal.
The recent 155/45cal revealed weighs 22.3 tons quite high compared to previous one.

However the weights seems a bit more if compared to m777 as it's a ulh class gun.
While m777 stands at 4.2 tons ulh 39 cal weights 4.8ton. I have heard of 4.6 tons too maybe newest iteration not sure take it with a pinch of salt.

Drdo needs to work along with Bharat forge to bring the weight down drdo along with bf needs put some effort in innovation for lighter recoil systems, lighter alloys. however there are some signs bharat forge might be working on it along with army recommendation army might be waiting for it.

So they're making a ulh based truck mounted howitzer ?

Any source? It only says that engineering design of a weapon. They might exaggerate as well.
If it has really happened then it's the biggest fucking disaster happened in the recent times. Leaking ICBM & MIRV tech to the open market.. Damm.

damn , so much hate for army .

i thought M777 was a good buy . 155mm u can heli lift to remote border areas .

good for LAC ? 🤷‍♂️

Its fashionable to hate army these days. I have stopped responding to these desi retards who think everything is chandigarh lobby and corruption.

You can criticize Army for n - number of points on Artillery only but not for M777. Yes, now any follow-up orders for M777 doesn't make sense but Army never showed middle finger to Kalyani ULH over M777.
