DRDO and PSU's

Ahem*
I'm 100% convinced that Zircon is a purely rocket powered missile.
Now in this case, let's "assume" that zircon is infact rocket powered.
Then what if we modify the shaurya missile with a much better TVC, a seeker for anti-ship role plus other modifications and make it fly in a more depressed trajectory like Zircon.

• If you want a traditional ballistic missile, that's attains hypersonic speed during re-entry with limited maneuverability then you already have Agni-II and Agni-P
• If you want a quasi-ballistic missile that attains hypersonic speed in a much more depressed trajectory while having decent maneuverability then you already have the K-15 family; Sagarika/Shaurya/Pralay
• If you want to increase the maneuverability even more then you already have LR-AShM
• If you want a cruise missile that can do what cruise missiles typically do but at hypersonic speeds then we've already validated HSTDV to a great extent. Seeing the inaction of the OEMs regarding development of BrahMos-II, I'm pretty sure GoI would now focus more on this.
• As for seeker; almost all long range missiles from DRDO now have variants equipped with either ARH or IIR seeker.

So I guess instead of assuming and trying to replicate some vapourware it's better to let the guys at DRDO's missile department cook. They're wickedly good at cooking

🤔:confusedd: Feels like DejaVu. Didn't i answer this before few weeks back?

Honestly, i have not done much homework on missiles technology, especially the hypersonic ones & thier terminal guidance.
AFAIK the BMs use INS (Inertial Nav. Sys.) by Ring Laser Gyroscope, some may use GPS also, some get mid-course updates also by satellite.

Zircon is SCRamjet powered Mach 8-9 S-SM(Surface to Surface Missile), can hit sea/land targets.
Kinzhal is rocket powered Mach 9-10 AGM(Air to Ground Missile), can hit land targets.
Pralay is rocket powered Mach-6 SRBM using INS.
Shaurya is rocket powered Mach 7-8 using INS.

The BVR-AAMs & CCMs can fly Mach 4-5 with their RF & EO seekers.
There are ARMs & ground attack versions like our Rudram-2 with speed Mach 5-6 which, apart from passive radar homing, can use INS+Satellite for midcourse & IR for terminal phases.

So my low IQ brain would say that Pralay/Shaurya can be modified or a new missile, to use midcourse updates + passive RF &/or IR terminal homing to hit Naval targets.

If you change the engine, it becomes a new missile or version.
Oniks/Yakhont is Ramjet powered, Zircon is SCRamjet powered, Kinzhal is rocket powered.
Brahmos-1 is Ramjet powered, Brahmos-2 will be SCRamjet powered.
IDK merits/demerits of rocket powered Vs SCRamjet.

This is the era of experimentation on weapons.
Koi missile ko topi(top cap) pehnata hai, koi juta(launching booster) pehnata hai, koi lungi(1st stage booster) pehanata hai :facepalm4: :facepalm2::LOL:

3 sams almost same performance

Qrsam for army
Akash ng for iaf
Vlsrsam for navy
Qrsam ready for induction bdl is waiting for order
Vlsrsam - in developmental trial
Akash ng - ready for user trial

But are they the same platform on the inside?.. if not what's the point for so many different SAMs?
VL-SRSAM is basically Indian Astra. MR-SAM is Israeli Barak-8 desi derivative & Akash-NG is a mix of Rusi & desi developments. Our SAMs kinda confuse me 😅

@Ayan Barat or someone else can make a comparison of them like this plz?

Oh BTW...

QRSAM and VLSRSAM are Astra derivatives from the outside
Akash-NG looks like a Barak8/MRSAM derivative from the outside.

My question was if the Akash-NG is basically a clone in terms of range wagera, why aren't they replacing the expensive jewish missiles with it?

Perhaps there would be some issues to integrate it with MFSTAR?

Yoo, why haven't any one of you said that you were being paid by HAL, DRDO & other DPSUs?? I too want my share

let them have a filed day, let them have their mental orgasm and when real conflict arise lets see what will these entitled brats do

UN generals have gone insane these days.

Good thing is they are getting whacked left & right, they deserve public humiliation.

Don't stop shaming them. In fact all of the angst that folks have for dehatis... train dehatis to shame generals. They will learn quick. Lol. Also I like the dehati people, my dadi and family are mostly from Purvanchal. Lol.
