These queries are not related to "DRDO doing plasma stealth research", rather these are the queries related to just the "concept of plasma stealth" that are being asked since the day people got to know about this concept. USA has retired one stealth plane, about to retire one and at least five are in active service, China has at least four and Russia, the country from where this concept came has one but still, we see no application of this concept. So, there must be some reason why this concept has not been used beyond some research papers.

There are numerous such concepts in defence and aerospace that looks groundbreaking on a paper, but their real-world application feels almost impossible. Take the example of caseless ammunition, there's decades of work on them and still we see no widespread adoption.

And how exactly its application in missile instead of a plane is going to negate any of the queries raised by Anant or me?
The only application it may have is perhaps in decoys.

The common belief is those hypersonic missile actually undergoes deceleration at the beginning of their terminal phase and they decelerate till they come down to higher supersonic( mach 3-4.5) from hypersonic, after that their seeker starts to look for the target.
Also it's easily possible to get midcourse update data if frequency is strong enough even at hypersonic speeds.

As for the stealth effect of plasma, generic stealth shaping and materials are just vastly superior to plasma in stealth.
For example If cover a stealthy plane let's say f22/f35 in plasma from front, you are actually making it's stealth much much worse.
The only place where plasma stealth was practically applied was in radars( when radars were off) of russian fighter jets.
Because radars along with being good emitter are very good reflectors too.

Natural deceleration from "hypersonic to high supersonic & then supersonic" so that accuracy increases...

After gliding for ~1,200 Km in hypersonic speeds it mimics brahmos/cruise missile like trajectory and cruises for ~800 Km in high supersonic speeds and does speed decreasing manuvers to achieve Mach 2 to hit target accurately....




In short it's flight profile :

Ballistic phase -> Wave riding phase -> Hypersonic glide phase -> Hypersonic cruise -> High supersonic cruise -> Low supersonic cruise -> Attack target




IMO These controll surfaces are for doing maneuvers to achieve high AOA and terminal braking 🤔...

FYI DRDO ground launched hypersonic cruise missile will do Hypersonic gliding initially and then starts it's scramjet engine....


DRDO Air launched hypersonic cruise missile will have Dual Combuster ramjet engine which is capable of operating from Mach 3 in ramjet mode and Mach ~6.5 in Scramjet mode....

They choose dual combuster ramjet in air launched HCM Bcoz we don't have powerful aircraft to carry & launch pure scramjet engine HCM "heavy weight"

No, will take another round of import bans/duty-maxxxing and PLIs for dhandhos to even bother.
Otherwise it's literally easy and cheaper to ((( Buy from 5 Places ))) where those 5 places end up being PRChina, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Vietnam, :bplease: but 4 of those 5 also fully source from one country only 🤦

Anyway more than imports the electronics portion( flight controller ) needs to be indegenized, for now atleast we need to make sure the chips come from non-Chinese sources and the PCB, assembly and software writing and loading into the electronics is done here.
