DRDO and PSU's

He's preparing the grounds for the release of the recommendations of the committee appointed to look into the workings of the IAF which'd at this point in time suggest direct imports of the MRFA for obvious reasons , as opposed to the tendering process which means the Rafales in tranches with possible offsets & probably also the Strykers though I sincerely hope the latter doesn't happen .

Expect a lot of such communiques to come out from higher echelons of the government , bureaucracy & the services in the days ahead.

As expected defense industry always becomes the first casualty. Upcoming days are going to be very black pilled , so brace yourselves.

Naaaah, not really.
These four years are going to be tough and extremely unpredictable for us not because of the new Government but primarily because of eccentric, non-statesman surrounding the POTUS...especially the venerated Prime Minister of USA.

Credits where due, because of the initiative of Indira Gandhi and Vajpayee the maximum harm that can happen to us are more or less economics. Otherwise look at Ukraine and Taiwan, we would have ended like them.

Also the reason our missile technology is so top notch and perhaps the only arena in defence & aerospace where we're one of the global pioneers instead of just playing catch-up with everyone, has bit of a helping hand from all the sanction after Pokhran. So who knows, we might have our Pokhran-III moment...

It is really unfortunate for Indigenous Products...but I think Modi GOVT. had no other way to protect itself from heavy Tariffs..as India enjoys a huge Trade surplus with USA ( percentage of trade wise)....just hoping India will be wise enough to not get involved into critical systems like FIGHTER JETS ,( F35/F21/F15).

When we signed the landmark civil nuclear deal with USA. It was predicted USA will build multiple nuclear reactors in India .

Fast forward today not a single us reactor in India.

We will ofcourse by more military stuff from USA. But it will be well in line with our import in previous decade .

No drastic change is going to happen.

We have a huge requirement of aircraft and marine engines in next 10 yrs... that itself will make a huge bill.

& I just remembered... the IAF has a requirement for 30-50 medium transport aircraft for which there were 3 contenders... C-130 🇺🇸, C-390 🇧🇷 & A-400 🇫🇷... this deal goes to US.

As it should. A400 we can't afford in those numbers. C390 will be new addition resulting in maintenance nightmare.
C130 we already operate should get more with an assembly line . Which can later be used to build out own medium transporter for long haul.

In some far planet, revolving around Alpha Centauri-A Indian MIC had shown the spine and intellect to collaborate with Antonov. In this deal Antonov (Ukr) got a good cash injection resulting in them rebuilding after a war and in return India got Antonov (In) whose primary job was to "train the trainer" for R&D and transfer IPRs to local industries.

Because of this collaboration, in current times India has not just managed to bridge the technological gap in fields like engine core and large aircrafts, but also is a global contractor.
