Indian Multi Role Helicopter (IMRH) (2 Viewers)

Any updates? Ccs sanction or critical design review? When will the prototype roll out etc. Ig we all forgot about this program

The evergreen banana republic giving considering CCS approval for this project now. Even a PSU has to beg for it shows how unserious this socialist scumhole is.

The corruption and fear of Scandal has gone not only into the psyche but the bone marrow of everyone. After all Bofors, Denel, Augusta, Rhienmetal, BAE , Coffin are just tip of iceberg.
Imagine headache of Army, to be only able to spend the allotted Funds (already deposited in Unit Account) for a financial year. For even procuring stationary and Printer cartridges requirement- The Army clerk has to run around to CFA/IFA who are civilians and ask for favours. Once the file is cleared. Only contractors who provide kickbacks to higher civilian authorities will bid on GEM, (will only provide L1 sasta maal in garb of Make in India). And to top it up Auditor will come at the end of year asking for bribe to clear Financial Audit. Its so frustrating sometimes.
These multiple checkpoints to prevent corruption has only increased corruption by utilising loopholes while preventing timely approval and acquisition of platforms for us.

How likely is this to get killed by dalals assuming we have prototypes passing trials successfully and all?
This is a tri-force project right?
Less likely, not many options for this. Navy alone has requirement for 123 multirole helicopter along with 111 utility helicopters. These are supposed to replace all Mi-17V5s in service, and fill the requirement for more.

Our helicopter programmes are fully safe and immune to import dalali, especially because the turboshaft engines are manufactured here only. Only if babus had the IQ to do the same for fighterjet engines beforehand.

Also, will be modified into an armed variant like the Rudra or the armed Mi-17s.

It's not like HAL is not allocating Rs.4000 crore worth of internal funds to fund this program.
HAL gets unnecessary hate, for all it's shortcomings, it has done more than you'd expect from a PSU.

Yes thought as much, when all 3 forces are involved it's much harder to do the trials testing ASQR/GSQR dramas.

Besides for like 300-400 choppas demand imports wouldn't cut it, just too expensive, IAF itself has like 200+ Mi-17s today

Most of it is because dalal patrakars writing over 9000 articles about PSU BAD, PRIVATIZE NOW!
Most people don't use their brain and then vomit these patrakar articles on forums and comment sections

HAL does deserve criticism though for over promising. And lethargic work culture though. It's not like they can't do things at all. For example IMRH is a project they are fully committed, and they are doing quite well on their own. For which they deserve the praise. It is just in some other key important projects they become very lethargic. One of my friend was doing internship in HAL and he told me they delayed a project for 4 months because one engineer was on holiday. Though, over promising part is mostly because of IAF ka dar. IAF puts absurd demands mid development and then they basically say "Laga denge ji". Because ofc if they say the truth, IAF brass would be unhappy and fume in anger.

That reminds me government is slowly increasing private investment in HAL. Now they only own 70% or so of HAL. Eventually they are planning to sell upto 49% of HAL to private investors.

Anyways HAL is even funding IMRH because they want to become a profitable company unlike good old days when they didn't care much about the market. And Government is giving a good push to them for that too.

if you see the finishing and finesse on mk1a which were inhouse made by hal, its really beautiful. at first i thought it would be the sub contractor work, but then after few months i saw that first private contractor has started delivery of front or central fuselage.
hal should do proper hiring, its visible that they are not able to handle basic trainers too. leave aside yashas and hlft. same for helicopter division. hal has potential, it shouldnt waste it. it takes one proper leader for hal for ateast 2-3 years to transform it.

In my humble opinion hal should just give some of those lesser important projects like trainer to private supply chain. And they should focus on big ticket projects.
