Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry

Reposting from SSC:

Syrma SGS is another promising EMS player. They manufacture/fabricate PCBs, PCBAs and RFID products. They are aggresively expanding their production capabilities. SMT capacity increased from 3.2 m tonnes per hour to 6.3m tonnes per hour in the last year. They set up a new factory in Noida and gurgaon and is in the process of setting up/expanding their Bawal and Pune ones and have recently expanded their Chennai factory. Their revenue has crossed 3200 crores in FY24, up 50% from FY23.

This company too can cross the $1 billion revenue mark in a few years. EMS is anyways a low margin industry

Wow..just 2 pages of this thread has such goldmine of information about recent electronics news in India. If Government shows serious intent in any industry and bring in the cash initially, the birds will come to feed on it. Our electronics industry alone should touch $1 Trillion by 2035. Thankfully we are not doing just assembly but also manufacturing including semiconductor chips. This is something no South East Asian country can replicate anytime soon.

China also started with just assembly. In our case we are developing all things parallel. We are talking about semiconductor fabs, display fabs, packaging and testing, even luring companies which make components for Lithographic machines, basically end to end production of all things electronics. Luckily we have human resources ready to take on this high tech jobs. Our software industry is established and is very mature. There is no dearth of talent for Software industry. Now it is time for hardware to shine. I hope to see a day my entire PC is manufactured and designed in India.

How do we prevent future reuters hitjobs like these that specifically target our most critical industries ?????

cannot prevent hitjobs originating from outside the India's jurisdiction, motivation behind the hit job could be anything from strategic to political to ideological to business competition.

Indian industry and gormint can only strive to build internal immunity against hitjobs.

Fingers crossed we get into a position where there's supply chain reliance on indian manufacturers so that no matter what the soros gang tries to hit us with we come out unscathed . Till then just gotta keep our heads down and keep doling out incentives to attract giants

Can somebody more knowledgeable list out all the semiconductor manufacturing sites including FAB and ancillary industry for everybody's benefit. Right now bits of information is all over the papers, but no consolidated list and location is available.

Please do it..... Thank you

I think all of it is mentioned in this thread itself. I transferred the entire thread's important latest pages from DFI to here.

Listing all of them is difficult, but here's a list for fabs/foundries(top 10 by revenue). Overall they account for 95% of the market share.

Thank you for info…… I was asking about FAB / Foundries and ancillary chip making industry planned for India and various locations.

How do you transfer the whole thread from DFI here. It is important that it is done now prior to July 12th.

@SammyBoi was compiling a list of all such participants in the Indian SMC ecosystem. Wonder how far he's reached assuming he's begun.
