Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry

Iam really excited for L&T instead of Tata in Semiconductors . L&T is actually true behemoth that competes with global players in many fields. I believe they definitely gonna make their mark. But, last time I heard they are going Fabless Route? In this they are saying they gonna be in Fab business.

So basically India won't be atmanirbhar in chip making machines in the next 1 or 2 decades or so. We will have to be dependent on Europeans for high end technology. In future I hope they don't impose sanction against India on human rights, anti conversion etc....

India will have to shell out more money for R&D.

You will have to educate yourself about a topic before speaking about it. That way you will increase your knowledge and save your time and also other people's time. Let me put your comment in context.

The budget of Government of India without deficit is close to $500 billion. Now let's say GoI gives all that money to ISRO to land a man/woman on Mars in 10-15 years timeframe. The total budget of all states and municipalities in our country is also close to $500 billion. Now let's say all that money goes to a team of experts who can build a modern EUV Lithographic machine.

It's highly likely ISRO lands a person on Mars than the probability of experts who have been tasked to build a Lithographic machine within that timeframe. Yes, it is that difficult to build that damn thing. It requires very high precision tools and components. That is why we should start small. Crawl before you walk, walk before you run, run before you swim. This applies to Science as well. Science is cumulative. New knowledge is built on Old knowledge. It is not without reason Einstein said "I am standing on the shoulders of giants".

PM Modi meets Foxconn chairman Young Liu to boost India's tech investments

In Tamil Nadu, Foxconn has signed an agreement to invest Rs 1,600 crore in a new electronics components unit, which is expected to create more than 6,000 jobs.

In Telangana, Foxconn plans to invest an additional Rs 3,300 crore in its manufacturing facility, bringing its total investment in the state to over Rs 4,550 crore.

Well you have to give it our southern neighbor state TN that no matter what party it is even if its ideology is somewhat shit, they value development mainly investments. Unlike our other neighbor, AP which is brought to Bihar level by Jagan by freebies in addition to chasing away all industries. Telugu people have immense potential and human talent is hardly a issue if they are utilized properly but we have too many in "Parasite" class that form the major votebank. Hats off to TN for reducing the influence and votebank of "Parasite" class.

Man no AC's, no refrigirators and 6 people in one room in 2024? How do you expect workforce not to jump ships if better working condition are available? This aint China where you can whip the workers to work at a company. Look at comical washing room given with slabs for beating your clothes. Would it not have been convenient and time saving if paid washing machines could have been installed? I mean why should it tough for Govts since they distribute much expensive TV, Laptops, Mobiles etc for free during elections?

Indian OEMs have to take control in 5 years. These chingchong0.5 maggots are here to exploit and scoot.

Mindgrove has designed and developed System on Chips (SoCs) to cater to the growing demand for semiconductor chips for a diverse range of products, including smart watches, smart locks, CCTVs, power meters, and smart fans, just to name a few.
One of Mindgrove's key differentiators is its Secure IoT SoC — a 700 MHz high-performance microcontroller designed to offer programmability, flexibility, security, and superior computing power, all at an estimated 30% lower cost compared to similar chips in the market

In 2023, the startup raised $2.32 Mn in its seed funding round from Peak XV Partners and Speciale Invest, among others

Tata's Rs 6K cr plant for iPhones likely to start operations in November (paywalled)

US-based tech major Apple Inc is set to get its fourth iPhone assembly plant in India, which is being built by its key contract manufacturer Tata Electronics and is likely to start production in November, sources privy to the development said.

The factory in Tamil Nadu’s Hosur will be the second iPhone assembly plant for Tata Electronics following its acquisition of Taiwanese EMS player Wistron’s unit, which was in the works for two years.

印度原始设备制造商必须在 5 年内获得控制权。这些 chingchong0.5 蛆虫是来剥削和滑行的。

Isn't Foxconn a Taiwanese company? How did it become Chinese? India's semiconductor and electronics industries are quite underdeveloped. Hasn't India always sought help from Taiwanese people to develop its electronics and semiconductor sectors? Prime Minister Modi even recently met with their CEO.

If you keep focusing on gaining control over foreign companies, they will stop investing in India. India's business environment will become very poor, and foreign capital will completely abandon India.
Winning market position relies on free market competition; only then can companies compete globally. Otherwise, they will remain confined to the Indian domestic market. Your administrative power only has an effect within India.

That's why I added "0.5". Taiwanese are searching for another labour market after Chinese salaries are grown out of their profit margin. Today they are in India, 10 years later they will be in Africa searching for lower income labour market. India does not have own OEM that's why Foxconn has audacity to build such "hostels" which are nothing short of slave labour camps.

I did not wrote about gaining control over foreign companies, but developing our Indian OEMs who will enter into market as product manufacturer in future.

Should have encouraged strictly JVs with domestic companies. Even Adani or Ambani won't stoop down to such low levels.
