Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry

The one PLI we've been waiting for. Apparently, the finance ministry approved it. Hopefully the cabinet babooze also approve it soon.(end of month as per article)

"The proposal is likely to get cabinet approval later this month ahead of its rollout from April, said government officials aware of the matter. As part of the scheme, electronics components worth $50-60 billion are estimated to be produced over the scheme's five-to-six year tenure, they said.

Products that have a higher disability or manufacturing constraints vis-à-vis China and Vietnam will get more incentives.

One of the officials said the amount can be revised upwards if the entire outlay is claimed. Also, unlike the smartphone PLI scheme where 4-6% incentives are given to companies on reaching a production threshold, incentives on the component scheme will vary as per the products, depending on disability and localisation, a second official said."

They have lost indeed it to East Asia, surely they can make a cumback later on in a decade, but if Taiwan is lost and therefore TSMC, where will they fabricate their Nvidia GPU chips in TSMC quantities for their ((( Data is the new gold ))) AI applications in the meantime ? :bplease:

Over confident fools breathing their own gas of "The End of History" since the 90s centralized all general purpose global manufacturing in China, majority of processor/GPU fabrication into Taiwan and DRAM fabrication to South Korea.

Chings have cracked the code for gas turbines and now the only obstacle to their autarkic supapowa status is state of the art semiconductor fabrication.

40 years of doing progressively filthier Mujra in front of the ((( Large Chinese Market ))) will only result in a massive L from the PRC in the future for the W*st

Can't scale up like the big TSMC fabs in Taiwan.

Apparently it's a hedge to guarantee US phool sapport for Taiwan's defense, by not giving a 1:1 replacement of TSMCs production capacity anywhere outside of Taiwan.

As i've said eventually they can do a cumback but the shock to the "markets" both of the ((( stocks ))) sort and "I need to buy parts for my gaming PC/server/workstation " sort will be devastating because of the gap in supply.

The entire modern Semiconductor Industry is lone effort of America. Even the EUV Lithography is result of "Gormint" run Lawrence Livermore Laboratory+Cymer consortium with Europoors Industry.

Its not about "Capability" but about "Attitude". America can but its too busy with nonsense.

It is already in process. Intel has already got NA-EUV Lithography equipment few months back. They may be under financial strain now. But once they master the advanced node, expect them to churn out chips like banana chips. Uncle Sam will not allow Intel to fail. It is very important to have one domestic integrated device manufacturer.
