TSMC Arizona says hiThey have lost indeed it to East Asia, surely they can make a cumback later on in a decade, but if Taiwan is lost and therefore TSMC, where will they fabricate their Nvidia GPU chips in TSMC quantities for their ((( Data is the new gold ))) AI applications in the meantime ?
Over confident fools breathing their own gas of "The End of History" since the 90s centralized all general purpose global manufacturing in China, majority of processor/GPU fabrication into Taiwan and DRAM fabrication to South Korea.
Chings have cracked the code for gas turbines and now the only obstacle to their autarkic supapowa status is state of the art semiconductor fabrication.
40 years of doing progressively filthier Mujra in front of the ((( Large Chinese Market ))) will only result in a massive L from the PRC in the future for the W*st
DEI hiring protocols say hi.TSMC Arizona says hi
TSMC Arizona says hi
Can't scale up like the big TSMC fabs in Taiwan.
Apparently it's a hedge to guarantee US phool sapport for Taiwan's defense, by not giving a 1:1 replacement of TSMCs production capacity anywhere outside of Taiwan.
As i've said eventually they can do a cumback but the shock to the "markets" both of the ((( stocks ))) sort and "I need to buy parts for my gaming PC/server/workstation " sort will be devastating because of the gap in supply.
Too early; First India-TATA has to start manufacturing process of the chips. That is next year 2026. Then India will talk about Lithography. Is India doing anything in lithography?
Is India doing anything in lithography?
The problem is not about Metallurgy. Suppose you know how to build a Single Crystal Blade- say a complete to-do guide is given to us by GE themselves. How are we gonna do that? By Hands? It requires specialized Machine Tools. This is an absurd question. As I have said umpteen times here, ASML has 700 suppliers like Carl Zeiss, Tokyo Electron, LAM research, Applied materials etc. If you want to build a Lithography machine start by building smaller components and master their manufacturing process. Otherwise you are simply shooting in the dark. My approach is more or less the same for any industry. In fact, it's not my approach. It is Scientific approach to building any sophisticated machine. We are trying to build a Jet Engine for a long time now. Shouldn't we start with basic metallurgy and slowly figure out how everything fits together? During that time why not focus on building all the avionics, mission control computer, AESA radar and the other things all by ourselves?
Some institutes like IIT Mandi are doing research on photo resists and resist production methods, sometimes in collaboration with companies like intel. They did a sub 20nm resist and are working on sub 10nm resist. Is India doing anything in lithography?
serious andewr: nothing beyond academic exercise as of now. iirc IIT Mandi is doing active research in areas related to DUV with SCL Mohali. Is India doing anything in lithography?
