So 6 of these along with 6 netra mk2s which were already ordered order ?

Anyone know how time intensive is the modification to the planes ?.... Airbus works pretty slowly as a corporation and if we need to send the planes over there and a lot of work is needed , I don't we will even get the planes back in 3 years forget about putting on the radar and handing it to the IAF in that timeframe.

Why has the price of Netra mk 2 escalated to double i.e 3B dollars as per latestreport? The above is a 2021 report

That's the news going on. I am little perplexed as I thought they are going to go with Rolls Royce since they were promising lot more given their vast experience in developing both low bypass and high bypass Jet Engines. However, it looks like geopolitics might have played a part in this decision. It is more likely UK is seen as a bitch of US from Indian foreign policy perspective and they fear RR might cease co-operation at some point living us hanging if US presses hard on UK to do so. India's relationship with Russia has not gone down well with US or UK. There was even in a article in Telegraph few days ago stating India should be declared as a enemy country for it's relationship with Russia.

That Telegraph article author seems to be salty about us. Also, called muh weapons underperformed when Brahmos pretty much took down everything for fun. Again, he is not an defence author.

There seems to be too much shit talk about Russian equipments. Meanwhile same British Army guys screwed up the SA80 Rifle and needed Le Germans support to fix them. Series of Naval ships which breaks down left right and centre. Finally cherry on top is the failed launch of Trident missile.

There are lot of overpriced junk getting used in Western countries. Eg. Stryker was complete bullshit, Patriot SAM was failed in SA by Houthis attack. Even some of the german game changing Leopard tanks were cooked. NATO relies on US ISR. US alone have 90% of assets.

That is why we are advocating for massive Space ISR for us. We can outreach anyone having those systems.

American / NATO stuff works very well when supported a huge and very expensive integrated battle structure .

As Ukriane found out when they tried their counter offensive with Western weapons in 2023 that a country with half the system are jsut sitting ducks for the Russians.

Because A321 aren't typically used for AWACS. We need Airbus's help for modification of those aircrafts. And Airbus was demanding more money because of the type of extensive modification that needs be done to the airframe. So the deal was hung thanks to cost negotiation between both parties. It was natural the price was going to go up..
