Except the point M-46 being heavy why don't we convert all guns to 155mm
It will give us commonality in future and moreover I heard the conversion cost is 70 lakh rupees don't know if it's true or not
We can heavily deploy it in loc as it will be difficult to deploy in lac

best probable thing i can think of is we are not upgrading older worn off guns only the newer capable guns which have life left are upgraded

Things will take a lot of time in future
Army will not go beyond 307 atags as they want tgs in huge nos
I won't speak about it but that will take a lot of time in negotiation if testing won't be issue
So for stop gap measure we can convey 130 to 155 at 79 lacs only

well army knows better how to manage their resources (which they dont have much tbh) lets see i guess we would see 307 atags 1200 athos and mgs (atags based) and 105mm garuda

i also think so its not obselete now but in 10-15 years it could be very endangered

Never saw service , as Denel was blacklisted on corruption charges and the project was shelved.
We could have a self developed howitzer 40 years back.
We didn't.
