Discuss the Sig 716 rifles in Indian Army service.
Once trump comes into power. You will see many deals shall be signed. Is their any chance second lot of SIGs 716i is inducting in Army
Hope for the bestOnce trump comes into power. You will see many deals shall be signed.
I hoped (in vain) they could have have picked IDDM design, ironed out deficiencies and got all the necessary modifications by now - given last 10 years gave enough time.Hope for the best
In that way, they support first SSS DEFENCE riflesI hoped (in vain) they could have have picked IDDM design, ironed out deficiencies and got all the necessary modifications by now - given last 10 years gave enough time.
In previous post I am just posting inevitable course of actions.
Exactly. But when I said you will see more deals under trump, reason was not because its pressing requirement.here is copy of my SIG716I post on D F I from first hand user colloquially known as 'hammer head shark' sir himself from good august 2021 times

and after some months in may 2022 he again provided this

since then a lot has happened and except that local ammo issue and some videos of jawans literally getting pushed rearwards when attempting to fire it at full auto, not much issues have come out and we're seeing many of these SIG-716s being issued with optics and scopes too
We had so many issues with that rifle still somehow they were asking MoD for more orders?that’s pretty weird like what is the mindset of the brass or who ever is involved in these decisions.here is copy of my SIG716I post on D F I from first hand user colloquially known as 'hammer head shark' sir himself from good august 2021 times

But its not like 7.62 mm is a new calibre inducted. Before SiG we had SLR as standard rfile used even in CI/CT. I remember when INSAS was being inducted common complaint was 5.56 is too weak in comparison to 7.62mm. These are transition pains.army uses guns but doesnt select them
civil def babus select them but doesnt use them
thats the problem
i can bet no babu can fire a sig 716i at full auto without falling back 7.62x51 is a damn hefty

we could have opted for normal 7.62x39 since we were buying the usual ak203 the sig messed up the economics more and sig have problems tooBut its not like 7.62 mm is a new calibre inducted. 716i jamming was due to OFB ammo IIRC somebody wrote in DFI sometime back.
Regarding rails jabbing onto hands, well most modern rifles are having similar designs. Its nit complain for others because others wear feminine gloves, our shers like to hold rifles bare hands.
Also the 7.62x54rwe could have opted for normal 7.62x39 since we were buying the usual ak203 the sig messed up the economics more and sig have problems too
problem is we have
jvpc-5.56x30
insas-5.56x45
ak-7.62x39
sig-7.62x51
we have all possible ammo present on earth that messes up the scale things
ofb is another debate no comments
and regarding gloves = tendor = vendor = selection = L1 = delivery [this process would take 1 year to 5 years no certainity ]
Jvpc is canned for army. Insas is fetting replaced by AK. SiG will seem as slight garnishing compared to AK'share in India. Gun pie.we could have opted for normal 7.62x39 since we were buying the usual ak203 the sig messed up the economics more and sig have problems too

But the question here is if everything is this clear just hold babus accountable and solve the issue that’s where the problem starts babus don’t just buy a rifle they like the requirements are given by army, the testing is done by army, and a suggestion for repeat order is given by army.Babus are definitely involved sure but don’t give top brass clean chit they are responsible for this as much as the babusarmy uses guns but doesnt select them
civil def babus select them but doesnt use them

well i laugh reacted not because i am skeptical over trump getting elected as potus, not because i thought order itself is outlandishExactly. But when I said you will see more deals under trump, reason was not because its pressing requirement.
