Indian Culture & Society (1 Viewer)

It's interesting when you think of it but while a great many scholars ( essentially of the Western kind) posit the entire South East Asian region was heavily influenced by these two behemoths - the Indian & Chinese civilisation, it's pretty evident the influence from the Indian side was overwhelming .

You see Indic exports like religion culture language epics like the Maranaos version of The Ramayan in this case unlike what you do for say the Chinese version of their epics which mostly stayed with Chinese immigrants without being disseminated within the wider community there .

For instance you don't see many followers of Daoism or Confucianism within the wider Filipino or Malay ethnic groups now or before do you , but you see the very same people practise an Indic faith with their language being influenced by Indic languages which is extremely surprising given the physical proximity of South East Asia especially the Philippines to China.

Your thoughts on this development? @rockdog

video seems to be from TN, is this happening in other places as well? is this a thing now?
i wonder how do office power dynamics shift after such performances in front of goras.

desis might be presuming it as a sweet gesture, the gora might be reading it as submission.
equals don't dance infront of each other unless it is a competition.

Please do not see everything from your jaundiced saffronized north Indian eye. (Telengana is north India for us)

It's just a couple of people, irrespective of made made constructs like color/power, having fun.

This is beyond your 5000 year old brahmanical layered comprehension.

We are an open society working for atheist border less society.

Have you heard about Keeladi?

Do you want beef parotta?

Damn! Idlis going international.

Never thought I'd see Nungambakam style Kuthu dance in corporate settings. What next maama? Kuthu dance in TN assembly? I'm surprised it hasn't already happened given the largely s̶y̶m̶b̶i̶o̶t̶i̶c̶ parasitic relationship between Kollywood & Tamizh politics. @Selvam91

does this have something to do with former british presidencies where this is prevalent, i.e take pride in absolute submission to goras both physically and ideologically. bombay, madras and bengal.

I won't read too much into it . Also depends on the setting. Looks like your regular BPO to me . Can't imagine this to be the case in a Deloitte or a PWC or even an IBM or Google.

Must be the brain child of some hare brained & equally useless HR staff. I'd be more interested in what happens when there's a downturn in business .

Will the handing over of pink slips be accompanied by a similar song & dance routine with the honour of a gora seeing you out ?
