Yes, you are right. That is why decision has been taken to build 7.5 bunker buster and mount it on Agni or any other missile.

Not a fan of having bunker busters on a BM. BMs usually have a large CEP and unless loaded with a monstrous warhead (near low yield nuke capacity), it would require volleys of them and some luck to neutralize a bunker. Not very practical since volleys of BMs can be misconstrued as a pre-emptive nuke strike leading to disastrous consequences. A heavy-duty CM maybe a better option, but not sure if it's feasible to be used as a bunker buster both from a warhead size and kinetic energy/penetration perspectives.

I was wishing that we sneak in 1 or 2 prithvi's with BCES submunitions during op sindoor on Paki airbases.

Alas, while conventional warhead it's still under strategic forces command .
So it didn't see any action.


If we had a air launched missiles with this warhead, I'm sure IAF would have used it, given they even targeted Noor Khan and rawalpindi, that's how pissed IAF was.

Can Saaw be used to create a glsdb type rocket, capable of being launched from pinaka launcher. can be useful to hit like terror camps and troop/equipment concentration.

They do, but with SAAW we have an IIR variant as well which is immune to jamming.

Regarding tactical missile such as newer lots of now have a ring laser gyroscope which also significantly limit the impact of GPS/GNSS jamming.

But it's lower supersonic in terminal phase, and higher supersonic top speed.
It has a 0.5 ton bunker buster warhead, that can penetrate few meters on reinforced concerete.


Hyunmoo 5 on the other hand, has 8 ton penetrating warhead, and CEP normally quoted of around 50m.



Than 2 m cep of ktssm 1 is not hard to achieve when its terminal speed is lower supersonic and top speed is higher supersonic.
having a CEP of 1m2 is much more impressive here given it's flight profile.

Yes, Hyunmoo 5 has a penetration capability of more than 100m RCC. Agni 5 adaption will be closer to this.

Another thing, S.korea doesn't need that much range, if things become fubar , then thier logical goal would to hit nuclear sites and whatever bunker Kim would be hiding in.

Yeah, apparently hyunmoo 5 has much higher possible apogee( can reach 1000km altitude above earth's surface, though this will be with lighter payload of 1-2 ton, not it's max 8 tons payload ) than the horizontal ranges it will need to cover in its role.
It's basically a an ICBM sized missile.
But south korea doesn't have nuclear warheads.
