So you want to miss a once in a lifetime opportunity when you already have the enemy pinned down, and risk possibly taking unnecessary future losses hinging on the hope that Pakistan won't be able to learn or change anything from this skirmish, or acquire anything because of money (when the Chinese have already shown the willingness to give them hardware for dirt cheap/free to keep India locked down)?

You may get borne out by the future and we'd be tremendously lucky if that's the case, but from a strategic perspective that's a really dumb and dangerous way to look at things.

Chinese can provide material assistance. But they will have to be manned by the pakistanis themselves. If we play with their water and insurgencies rise, economic carrying capacity of pakistan will reduce.
What use is foreign maal if they can't even use it. I will not be worried about it.
Once post 2030 our weapons systems comes online. Pakistan will be neutered in a single night.

This forum has again gotten into a meltdown about Rafale.
This is what happens when you have Patton Tank Syndrome.
You attach unnecessary national prestige with a weapon system.

Rafale was the commando which entered a country full of terrorists as the first responder.
If it took a bullet, I will give it PVC or Ashok Chakra for bravery.
Rafale went in when all the ADs and Radars of cuckland were alert and waiting.

I'll never criticize or mock the armed forces again. There were times in the past, where I was very critical of armed forces holding back against Pakistan. Recent events have made it extremely clear that our forces can destroy the Pakis at will. I'll admit, I had no clue we were capable of hitting Pakistani airbases with such ease.

Whatever pussyfooting we do against Pak is solely due to our Political/Economical/Diplomatic situation.

We need to become a much larger economy with much more domestic manufacturing capability to weather any chances of being sanctioned. Right now, neither our economy nor our manufacturing is sanction proof.

In 20-30 years, with a huge economy and manufacturing base, we will be in a position where no world power will dare to sanction us. That's when we must destroy Pak permanently. Till then, I guess we'll be limited to small scale confrontations and possibly more covert operations that look to splinter Pak society from the inside.

In all this 1967 we gave a resounding trashing to chinkis in Sikkim( artillery battle)

If we were like Pakistan under military rule/ coup pak would have decimated long back

Tejas mk2 frontal rcs would have 1/4 rcs of Tejas mk1a which is going to be extremely low rcs for comparison rcs of mk1a is so low due to radar absorption component used in engagement mk1a will detect jf 17 or pak f 16 or pak j 10 first and will have first look first kill capability now Tejas mk2 with 1/4 of already low rcs will wreck havoc on pakistani airforce Tejas mk 2 will Carry 8 bvr missile and 11 with dual hard point so it will be beast in its category and will dominate its counterpart
On air to surface role or sead or anti ship role Tejas mk 2 will supposed to be integrated with every weapon in service with iaf arsenal
Overall it is going to be mini rafale and will provide us more than enough capability and in big numbers as it will be indian low cost it is what iaf need right now

Continuing on my post here now that most of us here including me have calmed down what exactly is the govts strategy vis a vis Pakistan.

The ceasefire or understanding as it has been termed is beyond any doubt extremely lopsided towards pakistan.

My take on why.

1.India receives no guarantees that Pakistan will dismantle terror infrastructure or completely end terror funding against India.

2. No wanted terrorists residing in pakistan were handed off to India

3. We have received no information on who and where the terrorist who killed our people in pagalgam are which i believe was the least we could ask for.

From all the information we have on the net we were following the escalation ladder pakistan calls the nuclear bluff and we back of unconditionally without any ask whatsoever.

The govt claims that our new policy is that any new terror attack will be an act of war but the question is just like this time what is the guarantee that we wont stop again when pakistan pulls up the nuclear card because the first strike we do on any Pakistani nuclear asset rest assured America and china are jumping in and beyond the ramblings in this forum nobody in delhi is ready take nuclear hits if it results in the destruction of pakistan.

It appears that post our extreme success militarily we have failed once again on the table politically.

What will we gain by these demands? We know that Pakistan is a terror state. They can't practically handover any hvt terrorists. Murikans can't get them to do it. The understanding i hope is. India will now directly target the Pakistani Terror Camps just like Americans. It was the only logical assertion we can derive from it.
