I keep on thinking why India went with USA engines if reliability was an issue with Russian engines why not French Safran
Saffran has its own production line issue. They wouldn't have been able to provide us engines on time either.

Filthy uncouth potty mouthed pervert needs to be put on a leash

Trump hailed his alleged role in the suspension of India’s military action against Pakistan as “one of the biggest successes he has ever been given credit for"

This class A moron is a liability to RW all over the world.

STFU, First of all ya'll little niggas shall not disrespect Grandpa Trump.Trump will smack the mid terms. We are on the cusp Trump 2.0 economic rocketship. Also he is the greatest thing to have happened in the west else with Kamel Hoe WW3 would have been in full swing. Trump as POTUS is the best thing for India and the world. International Trade is being fixed after decades, without Trump, in a generation kids in India would be calling themselves they/them and trans would be the new norm. Supposedly smarter people have tried and failed to defeat him. The man works 20 hrs a day and is thoroughly America first and puts efforts towards peace. He in 3 short month has managed to pull close to 5 trillion in fresh investments into the US. For those who forgot Trump 1.0 was perhaps the most vibrant US economy in 5 decades. At 78 he takes a shot to the face, stands up and fights on, that is Uber gangster and legend.

He is not perfect and mouths of things where he may or may not have control, it doesn't matter. He is cultural icon, the funniest president alive, a warrior who doesn't give up and that deserves respect. When it comes to India, just chill and watch the show. Again, don't go posting garbage here about Trump.

Trump is the GOAT POTUS and an ally to India. Modi has plenty of respect for him as well because Trump is a genuine person and not some establishment hack.

Tejas Mk1A and Mk2 are the only immediate solutions. The AMCA should also be fast-tracked—even if all specifications aren’t finalized, it should proceed to its first flight, with improvements made progressively through multiple prototype stages.

This is the fast-tracking they were talking about :(

From what I understand in Nehru's time we were nowhere near achieving the mfg of a N weapon . For good reason too. The task of setting up & organising our N civilian reactor program , selecting suitable candidates with such a background , sending them abroad for further education , negotiating & concluding agreements with nations like the US & Canada for such technologies , etc took up most of Bhabha's time.

We were in a position to do so only after Nehru passed away . IIRC it was towards the fag end of Nehru's tenure when he was largely incapacitated thanks to the stroke he had suffered & during Shastri's tenure which was extremely brief. Shortly after Shastri passed away , Bhabha too met the maker courtesy a plane crash.

The program went into a limbo coz the prime political mover Shastri was no more & the prime mover of it on the technological side - Bhabha was no more too. It took some time for both sides to settle down with a new leadership.

IG herself wasn't too enamored of demonstrating our N prowess in the 1960s when she took over , which I won't get into here as that's a long story in itself suffice to say that the US 7th Fleet sailing into the BoB as part of Nixon & Kissinger's strategy to back Paxtan was an eye opener for her.

She resolved never to be blackmailed again in spite of the then USSR tailing the 7th fleet with their SSNs to make sure the USN didn't resort to any funny business. In fact the USN never entered the BoB & was at the cusp of entering it before the Soviets showed up & the former back tracked. She then green lighted the project & we had the first N test in 1974.

I'm not referring to you per se for calling him an anti national . Thru your post I was calling out those who did for the reasons I've given in the aforementioned post . Apologies if it came out as me accusing you of calling Nehru an anti national.

Secure his rule ? What exactly was the state of the opposition to him then in the 3 general elections the INC fought under his leadership ?

Am I ?

What was the economic conditions then for Nehru to embark on all those points you're raising with the benefit of hindsight ?

The biggest blunder both Pranami Gxxndu & his equally myopic disciple committed was to prevent exchange of populations. Till date that is what is haunting us especially on our Eastern Flank.

The Chinese occupation of Aksai Chin fails before this monumental blunder & most of the internal & external problems we're now facing owe itself directly to this blunder.

Add to it our inability to secure the borders for reasons already provided.

Patel died in the late 1950 . Goa was liberated in late 1961. Please get your facts right. You're probably referring to Junagadh or Hyderabad.

Please understand the difference between a rant & a well reasoned argument. The former can't be answered . The latter can.
I am not just ranting.

I will admit, my lapse our sardarji. But sardarji multiple times in his brief tenure has made overt overtures for goa. Since you are being pedantic. Please read up on how Goa became part of us. The People of Goa wanted to merge with Indian Union. So, Nehru had political compulsions to accept it. Rejecting a merger of goa would have undone everything going for him.

Second, Nehru was not equal to INC at the time of independence. INC at that time didn't mean Nehru only. INC had pretty good nationalistic leaders at that time. So political opposition was not external but internal. You can also readup how he systematically undermined other leaders to establish his writ.

So, Yes, Nehru did bareminimum just enough to protect his crown and his policies were not in interest with interests of Indian society and culture as well as state.

By the time the chai-biskoots at HAL deliver a 5th gen aircraft, the world would have moved on to 8th gen probably using warp drives.

Let alone China, Pakistan will be getting it's hands on J35A starting next year, So by the time India gets its first AMCA, they would have at least 2-3 Squadrons of J35 and a good 12-14 years advantage over the IAF.

I keep on thinking why India went with USA engines if reliability was an issue with Russian engines why not French Safran

Because French could not able to build anything on par with F414. The M88 at max is an F404 level engine. US on the other hand have F414, F119, F135 engines on their fighters which are more powerful and we are in dire need of those engines.

How will they do it ? Where are the engines ?

Hal can increase production speed with govt order. But they need engines.

How many f414 we have got till now ?
And how many we were suppose to get ?

Same thing will happen with Amca.
A automotive without engine is just a trunk.

Nehru deserves some respect for his good works like funding Scientific research. However my friend there is a difference between supporting Nuclear & Space research and supporting weaponisation of those. Nehru was pro science but wasn't in favour of weaponisation you should read his parliamentary speech against Nuclear weapons. Rest I agree.

Wait when did I called him anti national? I'm just saying he was Gandhian socialist. His own behaviour played as much as role as the circumstances surrounding him. He was also pro NPT. Homi bhabha was the one who wanted to weaponise Nuclear power.
Nehru was as pro science as Rajiv gandhi was pro computers. They do not gell well. Do not equate state capacity building with his pro-science attitude. He had no choice. Its the bare minimum he needed to do unless he didn't want to remain PM.

Why we are not employing material Engineers from IIT, giving them the package which they can't refuse,
The other day I was in one iit, whose dean was saying we have the budget enough to do the research but waiting for the approval

Don’t worry—drones are becoming increasingly important, and India’s GHATAK UCAV will enter service before the AMCA. It will also be powered by the indigenously developed Kaveri engine. However, manned fighter jets will not lose their relevance; they will continue to play a crucial role.

Tejas MK1A is F404 only we could have at-least better control with France as they only care about money not Indian containment like US
