Bhai wannar,
Russia is in a war and they have no money. The money they have is for people to survive and for ukrain war.
Also the development was not going because of nozzle and al51 . Now both of them are coming up nice.
Which fifth gen fighter is war proven ? Only su57 and f35 have been used a few time. And f35 facing lots of problem with maintenance.
So people who giving this argument of : not war proven are them selves blinded.
All of the above is a con, not a pro of buying SU57s en-masse.
I'm a bit confused on how exactly SU57s fulfill India's needs according to you here. It's not just about it being not "war proven". Its about zero support in terms of spares and untested design.
IAF has already rejected SU57. I don't see any reason to differ from their opinion (or use).
I honestly fail to understand this obsession with fifth gen planes.
Maybe you know better so you could tell me-
What exactly is the mission profile these fifth gen fighters are supposed to fill that they're so crucial that India should scramble for untested designs with no full aspect stealth or a solid supply chain?
Also they don’t get western hardware because they are fighting against them.
As a Jv we will not have same level of problems.
Ab tum agar kuch paisa doge apne plot bech ke toh wo bhi le lenge russi toh. Bech de bhai desh ke naam pe.
Aur ab jab ye su57 m bahu sa banke aa jayega toh tum sabse pehle profile pic lagao ge.
Bhai, tu bechayn hai, tu hi bech plot etc. Main toh nahi keh raha ye kharidne ko aur na main ejaculate karta hun taiyaron pe.
Tu taiyar ho ja, tab sochunga. Tera DP bhi laga dunga idhar heart laga ke.
I think DRDO has a better idea today of what they require vis-a-vis 5th gen tech.
If the Russians are going to give us decent tech wrt certification and mass production like advanced additive manufacturing, help establish test facilities, etc then I don't care if we go ahead with the Su-57s.
I'm sure the DRDO and the government know what they want and what they have to extract out of the Russians.
This is the only case it'd make sense to get those.
Honestly, if India could just manufacture it's own 4th gens, that'd be a way more solid long term strategy than getting a fifth gen jet from some nation which will either use it as a leash or go bankrupt suddenly when leaders swap (I strongly believe Russia will suffer terribly when Putin goes out of power).
I feel like the announcement of F47 has freaked a lot of people. I'm sure some people are of the mindset here that "America's already on 6th gen and we don't even have a few 5th gens".
Wait till China announces it's own sixth gen "Extra Dotted Vigorous Dragon" jet.
People need to understand. We're not getting left behind in the arms race because we aren't buying planes from other nations.
We are not IN the arms race here.
When Turkey was refused the F35, they immediately started working on KAAN and their drone industry to fill in the gap. Now, I dislike Turkey as much as everyone else here but the rise in their indigenous capability is undeniable.
This when their economic growth is slowing down.
Make do with the current situation. This is the best time.
India's not at war, WE KNOW it will be at war, start fixing things.
No other times leaves as little excuse and as much incentive as now.
This constant bandaging with a little french jets here, a little russian jets there and a little American parts here and British parts there has to end.
Stitch it up even if it's tender for a little but let it heal. Even if the stitch isn't perfect, at least the next one will be better.
