Operation Sindoor and Aftermath

Not performing SEAD/DEAD is suicidal!!! Whoever made this call should be lynched. This is inviting needless losses to men and hardware!! No self-respecting country will let someone else's AF bomb its territory without consequences, whether the reasons are legit or not is a separate discussion.

Will do better next time does not cut it. The opportunity presented itself this time and should have been fully exploited. The world and Pak/China have seen what IAF is capable of and rest assured, measures will be taken to address the shortcomings. IAF will have to significantly up its game to pull something off to this degree on another occasion. Simply put, this is a chance that went begging!!
People were jumping on me when I had pointed out the same.

if a rafale indeed crashed somewhere in our punjab, it was likely cause it had no A2A missile or was sent to a dense AD environment without prior SEAD/DEAD measures, this is just baffling, I can't understand how did IAF command thought they could walk into territory, bomb it and then give terrorism excuse. basically the chooran of porki awaam not equals to porki terrorist is a huge scam believed by our decision makers. This chutyap has been used to shield hamas by saying they are non state actors

Another thing if these terrorists are trained by pak army, being protected by pak army and also being supplied with material by pak army, then all definitions they are a de facto part of pakistan armed forces, we need to treat them as such.

If rafale didn't had the a2a missile that's not an issue, the real issue was unable to use countermeasures against incoming missiles.

Our confirmed Kill Tally.

In the Air
- 4 Fighter Jets Eliminated.
- 1 High-Altitude Very High Value Asset (HAVV).
- 2 Surface-to-Surface Missiles (SSMs) Intercepted.
- 2 Hypersonic Cruise Missiles (HSCMs) Neutralized Mid-Flight.
Numerous UAVs and Loitering Munitions (LMs) were destroyed in precision strikes.

On the Ground
- 1 AEWC (Airborne Early Warning & Control System) Taken out.
- 4 F-16 Fighter Jets Obliterated on Base.

Hope the next time, we will see "in the water too!" Well done and kudos to our armed forces.
Also I would like to take this time to appreciate the Indian Intelligence Agencies who played a vital role in this Operation.
JAI HIND!
SALUTE TO THE INDIAN MILITARY!

The entire paki focus was not on defending their territory but to get a trophy to claim victory in form of a prized asset of IAF.

You people may have read that any radar can handle so many targets at once... same way ECM/ECCM suits can handle a particular number of threats at once... the pakis might have overwhelmed a single rafale with numerous SAM & A2A launches.

Why is it "suicidal" if our planes were not going to enter their airspace? 🤔
How does enemy air defences matter if the planes are only going to do standoff attacks?

For all I care, divert all the water, and make Northern and Western India permanently water secure. Our farmers will become billionaires while the sorry inbreds on the other side of the border can drink each other's blood.
Will take 20-30 years and cost $40-50 billion. The terrain is hard. People talk about 80-20 but must understand that in 1960, it would have been considered virtually impossible to divert the water. Just about theoretically feasible now but prohibitively expensive.

20-30 years for what? Diverting all the water?

It won't take nearly that long to divert some of the water

All the water is not feasible anyway.

Even some of the water. The terrain is completely mountainous, tunnels will have to be bored. India has a right to 20% of the western rivers anyways under the IWT. Even using that has proved difficult.

It doesn't take 30 years to bore some tunnels.

A 5-10% reduction in flow is significant. pakistan has serious water security issues.

Tejas are designed to adopt India made engines later in their lifecycle. GE engines are stopgap. Also, We can always stockpile a dozen spare engines. Just in case.
I will not be worried about it too much.

my friend i have bad news and good news for you.

Bad News: Tejas can't carry Indian engines (for now)
  • From whatever i've gathered, aircraft are designed around a specific engine. Tejas was originally intended around Kaveri but when that went nowhere, we had to bring in the GE F404 which has pretty much now become the standard.
  • Mk2 will have this problem exacerbated IMO since it was not on the design board when Kaveri was an option, and will likely have F414 as the intended engine all along

Good News: We can use Indian engines in a pinch (conditions apply)
  • We are close to achieving the desired parameters with the Kaveri engine to make it comparable to the F404 in performance
  • However, using another engine on an aircraft entails years in testing and recertification. This of course would not be a consideration in case there is a war going on, but that will mean Tejas flying with Kaveri will carry a certain risk (until certified)
  • Not just for Tejas. We have been able to refine components of the AL31 engine of our mainstay Su30, and can use them too if the need arises

There's a wonderful thread on Kaveri and GTRE's progress & learnings. Might not be the correct place, but i'm posting it regardless. we are close to achieving self-sufficiency in engine tech if we play our cards right

FINALLY... the # released for Paki losses.

Paki losses in a nutshell:-
  • 8 F-16s
  • 1 IL-78 Tanker
  • 1 ERIEYE
  • 2 HQ9 units
  • 4 Radars
  • 1 AEWC
  • 6 Bayraktar TB2
  • Bachi khuchi Izzat
Poor Pakis tried to hide their LOSSES by faking news of Indian jets down and all. So Pakis not only SUFFERED HUGE LOSSES in terms of terrorists/soldiers(about 200) but also loss in Billions. Kangali mei aata geela.

Super SHREWD and Cunning US tried to sponsor and support fake narrative of Pakis by saying Indian jets were down and all within few mins of Operation Sindoor!!! US can't tolerate their F-16 downed by Rafales/SU's so got nervous and peddled fake narrative through lot of Armchair Jarnail's analysis in youtube etc. It's all good since India wanted some SOLID excuse to REJECT the overpriced F-35. No wonder US allowed IMF loans to these BHIKHARIS.

Indian Military remained calm and provided all PROOF whereas Pakis relied on their Madrasa Chaap Jihadis with "Center of Gravity" 💩. So $3.3 Billion TEA WAS FANTASTIC!!! :tea:

please take this information with a bucketload of salt
  • information on the poster and the document don't tally
  • document has used unreliable sources - idrw, france24, wiki aren't govt/operator/oem sources or even reliable OSINT sites
Both pieces seem another sensationalistic attempt at stoking the fire. While they look good on the outside, you need to scratch the surface to see it looks like a mashed up effort on similar levels of the disinformation news articles floated by the international media outlets during 7-10 may

better to wait for IAF to come out with an official release of their hits (which they will never do :facepalm2:) or use shiv_cybersurg's suggestion:

Why we need to divert?
Just dump all the chemicals and waste in that river

We know there was a DRDO project BMD, is that project completed??
Wat the difference between project kusha and BMD?

IMHO the sources in documents are just for estimating the cost of these plateforms, nothing else.
For example - approx unit cost of f-16 can be found on f-16.net.

Rest I agree with you completely...

Such war trophies from 1965 and 1971 are laying all over India in parks, Traffic intersections in form of Pakis tanks and planes.

Pakistanis just need something to show to their public and so far they failed in that

Pakis have a obsession (Or you can say fear) about India planes since 1965, 1971 wars. Even on 14th December 1971 when surrender of Pakistan 93000 soilders and generals was just 1 day away , their Newspapers (Dawn included) was showing headlines of 175 Indian planes hit.

We know there was a DRDO project BMD, is that project completed??

IMO, it is Programme AD not Project BMD. It is spanned over 3 phases:
1. PDV and AAD
2. AD-1 and AD-2
3. AD-AH and AD-AM

Programme LRSAM (Kusha) is different from Programme AD.

PGAD is being developed to act as our strategic ballasitic missile shield against nuclear ballasitic missiles of Pakistan whereas PGLRSAM is a long range SAM system being developed to supplement S-400 system. It will act as wall against any hypersonic threat, fighter aircrafts, subsonic and supersonic cruise missiles.
