I’ve been a writer for over 12 years, working across various verticals—SaaS, compliance, user education, and technical content. But after all this time, I find myself completely disillusioned. Every industry I’ve written for has felt chaotic, shallow, or too transient to hold my interest for long.
The one space that seems to have structure, purpose, and depth is Defense. It’s an area where things aren’t just thrown together for clicks and hype—there’s a method to the madness. And that’s exactly why I want to make a fresh start here.
I’m not coming in as an outsider who’s just curious; I want to build something sustainable. My research skills are strong—I like to probe deep, analyze nuances, and get to the bottom of things. My writing skills are even stronger—I know how to take complex topics and make them digestible without losing precision.
What I need now is guidance—not just generic advice, but a step-by-step breakdown of how I can practically transition into writing for the Indian defense industry. How do I get my first gig? Where do I start? What platforms, publications, or companies should I approach? How do I build credibility in a field that doesn’t take newcomers lightly?
Even if it means starting small—earning a meager income initially while building expertise—I’m willing to put in the effort. I just need to know the path.
If any of you have insights, resources, or even warnings about what to avoid, I’d be grateful. I have one shot at making a good impression here, and I’m hoping to make it count.
Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks, anon.
