So I have been using twitter or now called X for some years but the current state it is in is just disgusting. It just feeds same negative news loops, blackpillers not to forget the insanse amount of racism against Indians. I used to follow it for sports and some political news but lately that place is just having a negative impact. It feels like a bubble, like everything is going to shit in the country but when you stay away from it you get more balanced views.

What I mean to say is that the algorithm seems to set in a particular way that is attacking Indian psyche on an unprecedented levels and seems to encouraging it. I have seen good people change their opinions or have conflicting views cause they are constantly online. It used to be bad before but never this bad. And its specifically twitter/X.

I really think people should avoid that app. But more importantly a war is taking place on social media, trying to suck up all positivity and batter morale of Indians and the govt should recognize whats happening. Its like fighting a war in their battle ground in which they dictate and tweak the rules.

because of this for a few weeks now, i am on SM detox. detox here means removing every opinionated individual from my timeline, limiting the feed to just news headlines for now. it's just been a few weeks, but for now experience seems to be positive. downside is that, one may end looking like odd man out in conversations on current affairs, but so be it.

hence this post.

this sentence is the key, this is what i am worried about. i have been at this for a decade observing public behaviour within the country and abroad before and after social media became big in India(jio effect), for a group within India that almost never agrees in total on anything , how is it that "everyone" are syncing on this ?

considering, arab spring started with dispute at a fruit stand, later channeled for a political outcome.

but then again in electoral politics, voter fatigue is also a thing, when it is time for a change, it will happen anyways. a three time PM is happening for second time in this country's history, prior to only today's 80 year olds remember what it is to have a three time PM.

basic question to ask ourselves, "are you sure, your thoughts are your own?".
what will happen if you limit information inflow for a week, limit it to basic news and consciously avoid other's opinions? will your opinions be the same?

I have uninstalled too, I noticed I got hooked to it recently, I stayed off FB and Instagram for so long just for this reason but I let myself in Twitter cause initially it was good place of information, but i noticed spending hours just between work, I knew I had to lay it off. I have lived off news from DFI and sticking to newspaper for a decade. All i need myself to focus on being productive.

SM has to be a balanced place where you let of some steam and maybe some ones work inspire to do something more. But what I am witnessing on X is just mental degradation. People might get depressed if they use that site for too long. I know I started feeling it and decided it just not for me.

Just wanted to share here so that enough people can be aware to just minimize their time there.

I never had any SM except YouTube even that I uninstalled back in June simply becoz insane amount of propaganda. I will even uninstall WhatsApp if babus and corporate in india wouldn’t aped that app so rigorously.

Recently I think even DFI seems to have negative propaganda after all everything now comes from SM or propaganda peddlers.
Honestly think GOI should control Social media by outright banning foreign owned one.

People you have to understand. Hate towards India is not organic in SM. But its being systematically spread intentionally. This has been initiated by US to punish Indians for the democratic choice they made and geopolitical stand India has taken. SM is like drug addiction - US is the peddler. Popular SM sources are already rigged where they are promoting anti govt narrative demonetizing and or even shadow banning Govt Channels. Not only that - popular world wide influencers are being directed to peddle anti India posts (be it ridicule or disgusting). Its not that west has become more racist than before. There is general censure by govt on peddling racists stuff but what if that censure is not applied and racism gets you more artificial boost? More people shall gladly peddle that.

Chinese had to endure that too but they endured in 2005 on wards - but as with many things they developed their own leverages(tikTok, Temu, Wechat etc). West does not want to wait for India to become like China - they want to cut it to size right now. Hence you see the heat.

Remember China copies west in a poor, unpolished manner but it follows their steps. They have spent vast amount of time and money in deconstructing and understanding the levers that west wields. So all the SM CCPbots that you hear about and interact with were not chinese "innovation" but Chinese way to having controlled SM influence just like US.

Elon really ruined it with his free speech gimmick. But twitter always had a bad reputation even before. I use twitter esp for news related to defense.

It is a pretty straight forward summary of US influence operations that we discuss here.

I would like to point out that India against corruption also had happened at the same time as the arab spring. But instead of a newcomer stooge coming to power BJP did, another unexpected outcome so in subsequent elections you can see them adjusting to make them weaker on their platforms. In such a situation ranting about IT cell etc is utterly pointless.

In more recent times indians support for russia and israel and how that remained the sole source of support for these countries (atleast on SM) was noted and you see the anti india narratives that are prevalent today as a response.
