Water flows in the Chenab, recorded at the Marala headworks, decreased from up to 35,000 cusecs on Sunday to about 3,100 cusecs on Monday morning

"Currently, they are using our water to fill up their dams/hydropower projects in the Chenab basin. They cannot do this since it is a grave violation of the Indus Water Treaty…,” the official deplored.

"India did not inform Pakistan about the work at the Salal and Baglihar projects, which is being done for the first time since they were built in 1987 and 2008/09, respectively, as the treaty had blocked such work.”

cultural difference, not genetic.
Bengali muslims have significant non-bengali population as origin base. People forget, ganga & brahmaputra massively changed course during 1500s or so and this opened up old southern Kamrup for bengali colonization - which is basically what Sylhet and Chattogram is.
And most of it was powered by land grants to any and all muslims - be it some persian noble who was on wrong side of a war and kicked out or some afghan dude or some hyderabadi.

I do not justify the security lapse in current incident , but note that you can not 100% secure the area which is filed with people not supporting state! Some times I pity the duo , their hands are tide by mylords , Every secular is biting them , System is not fully controlled by them , supporters have very high expectations and poor guys trying hard to deliver! let some mercy be upon them. We are not detector state. The UP Congress chief mocking with raffle was worst which i could see! He was questioning GOI for not acting so far ! has he forgotan what the present day government did after 26/11 ? What kind of people we have amongst us!
Having said that , I would also like to note that these people are numbered and i can say so because election results in states like MH/HR/DL specks so that this lobby is loosing peoples faith. we are filling up the reservoir and work on dam flushing desliting means more reservoir capacity .

this is still short term , no water for pak for next week but long term there needs to be diversion . i think plan here is short tunnel + canal to divert chenab to ravi .

third time, i timed my visit to the consulate with that of Ujjal Dosanj - the one in a million Canadian Sikh dude who was former primer of BC ( chief minister), who behaves like khalistanis personally shot his family.
And THIS canadian citizen made the vice consul take my dossier. Of which, after 6 years, only 4 of them have had any sanction taken against them ( placed on no fly list or barred from entry to india, india did nothing so far for the NRI khalistanis here).

So this is the main flaw in Indian democracy that most people dont know about - its not about modi, shodi, jodi- its about the BABUDOM. Because captain can make all orders as he likes, if the XO is sleeping on the job, nothing happens. Period. And unlike my ship analogy, this XO cant exactly be fired easily.

DGMO level talks were routine , its monthly i think.

Why should we not hold DGMO level talks? What stops us preparing for the action that we want to take while some other part of government engages enemy in endless rounds of talks? Similar whinning happened when there was a standoff with China. Why are we holding talks ..we ultimately got what we wanted.

When I joined DFI & subsequently DFB, I came with an expectation that people here will have greater level of understanding of defense matters, strategic thinking, opinions & POVs more refined than Aam Junta. 95% messages on this forum especially on event driven topics like Balakot, Chinese Standoff, Pahalgam is endless drivel.

Funniest thing is people whinning here somehow think that it is "building pressure on government". I really salute your proactive action. I know its frustrating. But thats how the system has been from beginning. No one has truly rocked this ship. Nehru-Clan made sure the imeprial design remains intact. So, I am not going to talk more about it. You know it very well.

But i will say one thing the real reactivity comes from being closer to stimulus. Our power centres are away from it. I think you know that a Mayor in an Indian City do not have much power. Instead its the babu. They can overrule Mayor. These babus are only ruled by the state govt. I will limit myself here.

The good thing is the actions of the govt. has now publicly exposed depth and extent of the rot in our system. I am happy its now in full public view and their is no mask to hide behind. I just hope there are enough people who remember it and don't forget it at the time of election.
