A idea up for discussion.
Usually in SEAD operations the ground based radars are the top priority.
Destroy all enemy high capacity radars.

Once the radars have been destroyed, the accompanying SAM's become almost orphans. Yes, many SAM's have seekers but you need to first aim the missile in the general direction of the intruding aircraft or missile. The on-board seeker can then try to get a fix if it manages to get close enough to the target.

Without the radar systems SAM's may well become useless.

Now in order to minimise the vulnerability of SAM's why not store the missiles in underground hardened shelters with sliding steel doors. Blast proof. Of course a really powerful conventional or nuclear blast can damage even the hardened shelters.

Now is it technically impossible for a airborne radar like the AWACS with 360 degrees scan, track etc capability to take control of an SAM missile which is fired vertically up from an underground launch pad and then guide the missile to the target. It can probably work for at least countering fighter aircraft. Ballistic missiles with their high apogee flight paths probably cannot be tracked by AWACS radars.

One limitation is that AWACS radars can't match the capabilities of large, powerful ground based radars.

But I guess something is better than nothing.

I guess fighter aircraft and cruise missiles can be tracked by AWACS systems.

What are the advantage of the proposed strategy.
One, since the SAM's will be in protected underground launch pads they cannot be easily destroyed. Another is, even if above ground radars are neutralised the
AWACS will still be there to ensure that the Air Defence System is operational.

Yes, the AWACS can also be shot down but by virtue of it being a highly mobile platform it has a better chance of surviving.

Usually powerful, large ground radar stations are fixed whose positions can be pin pointed by the enemy ISR aircraft or satellites. Enemy aircraft know their location and will try to avoid flying near them.

Now, concealed underground SAM launch pads can be established in different locations which the enemy may not be aware of. What is needed is an AWACS to be present in the area to detect the intruder and then guide the SAM fired from the underground launch pad towards the target. Since the launch pads are underground and camouflaged nothing will be seen or detected by enemy surveillance assets. So an element of surprise can be established. The enemy fighter will be confidently flying over terrain which apparently has no overground radar installations and SAM's but will be ambushed by an SAM suddenly appearing from an undetected underground launch pad.

Well, is this science fiction or technologically possible. I had raised this idea earlier too.

i was just scrolling through pedofile forum, observed a couple of things. pls correct me if any point is wrong:

1. No single thread to discuss Op Baniyan Chaddi and its updates. there are separate threads to discuss performance of J10, JF17, or whether the op was a success or failure
2. Very few posts on the aforementioned threads - did i miss something? this thread along has 12K+ posts
3. Pakis are generally self-congratulating and circle-jerking each other over their achievements. here too, nobody has posted any proof whatsoever. udhar bhi sab social media ka alaap gaa rahe hain!
4. very few posts which mention failure of the op or the lack of evidence. some are even saying they could have shot down 20-50 IAF jets but were being gracious in victory hence did nothing!

In this war, Chinese Military Complex also got hit badly. Like Chinese strategies of "using your system to strangle you." , India did the same, using their Paki support to hit their Military Business abord. It's war imposed on them which they didn't wanted. They are replenishing paki drones and jets, to be tested in combat.
They had to take Paki side. They will keep Paki Military ego inflated. Second phase of this conflict is due.

I have observed that people tend to take the views of the society, platform, organization, education institution etc they are part of.

Here, a Soft Hindutva govt at centre has changed the dynamic of overall Indian thought. Before, the 10 years of UPA and 70 years of Congress had changed the character of Indian thought.

Give it another 10 to 15 years of Hindutva at centre, it will have even today's radicals appear as moderates in future.

Pakistani and Indian ambitions are different.

Indians across religious, political spectrum basically want what Korea and China did before them - to jump from the "third world" table to the "first world" table (China still not there completely) and all that it entails - strong passport, soft power, excellence in sports/arts etc.

Sort of similar to what has happened in cricket where India has gone from being "brown buggers" alongside Pakistan to seating at the highest chair of the high table along with former rulers England and Australia.

Pakistanis are confused and want some weird "Riasat-e-Madina" or something.

That's why the average Pakistanis kang on "Muslim world atom bomb" etc while the average Indian has no idea of India's military capacities and kang on "GDP","billionaires","startups","moon mission","metros" and not on "aircraft carriers", "ICBMs", "SSBNs" etc.

So when Pakistanis see how nationalistic Indians become, including Muslims they get shocked. Indians just don't want their ascent to first world status rocked by Pakistan and thus become incensed whenever terror attacks happen.

Yuri Bezmenov had said it takes one generation 20-25 to demoralize a generation. So, it is expected to take a generation to re-moralize, We are half a generation past,in 10-15 we will be defacto.

Do not Average Pakistani or NRPs read foreign media (even if biased like aljajeera, BBC, Sun news, CNN - it gives at least some actual hints) ?

I believe most of Indians (at least IT and allied fields working people) just do not believe our aajtak, Zee, India TV , arnab etc. (Not even DFB blindly !) they always verify with neutral channels, foreign media, anti establishment papers (Telegraph India is an good good example) before making a fair opinion.

supporting country and army is one thing, Afimchi like Pakis is next lavel.
