While I agree with you as far my experience goes even avg joe Indian doesn't believe we are behind anyone in missile technology because our missile PR is strong for all the right reasons. Only those haramkhor chinafanboi bhsdapiller & commies believe it. That's like 3/10 in this context.

also, in light of this SEAD/DEAD issue, i don't think we possess any great SEAD capability. while our DEAD might be decent thanks to rudram and other inventory, i guess SEAD is currently left to AWACs and ground-based electronic warfare systems (and Rafale's SPECTRA?). that should be a priority for investment too IMO

If one engine of a 2 engine jet falls off after getting hit , the jet has also crashed . It won't fly .

The range hardly matters, engaging target from 300km is not remotely possible no radar is that powerful.
The engagement probably happened around 50km, either the pl15 had better electronics or rafale was just unable to deploy countermeasures in time, might be due to less experience on the platform

But i strongly recommend that there should be threads which are dedicated for experts only to post. There are too many posts which are just from people getting carried away by the emotion/public sentiment/optics.

70% of the posts in the thread on Pahalgam attack are now irrelevant. We just fill pages after pages. To track an incident after a few years becomes so difficult. Unnecessary burden for admins/moderators to clean.
Of course, we can always bookmark the posts, like the one by @ezsasa where he was tracking the events.
But threads dedicated for experts and their analysis would be better.
