It detects and tracks targets utilising the opportunity FM broadcast transmission. Uses low frequency of operation which is highly suitable for low observable target detection. The Radar is completely passive, covert, immune to Anti-Aadiation Missile attack and jamming. The system works in multistatic configuration with multiple geographically separated receivers which makes it suitable tor detecting Stealth targets.
It is a low Cost, green Radar requiring low maintenance. System can be used for military as well as commercial applications

Bad idea. Those towers are emitting targets, and critical civilian infra. Colocating military passive antennas with them makes both a slightly higher priority target for the enemy. Will be two bird with one stone for enemy. Located separately, passive antenna will be more difficult to find and civil mobile towers won't be a priority target since they have no military purpose.

No one’s talking about physically sticking passive radars on BSNL towers. The coordination just means having access to their signal specs, frequencies, timing, modulation etc. so the passive receivers placed elsewhere can track reflections accurately. It’s about backend cooperation, not colocation.

Also, you can quietly embed known patterns or metadata into FM or TV signals stuff civilians won’t notice, but that helps the radar system lock onto reflections better.

Same with mobile towers, you can do small changes too like adding regular blips or patterns in the signal that don’t affect calls or data. These help the radar system recognize and track targets more easily. Since mobile towers are already time-synced, it also makes it easier to figure out where something is using signals from different places.

I seriously don't understand the competency level of Indian Army RFI makers

A MLRS on a 6*6 chasis, ok cool, then they ask for 122mm, 214mm rockets, fine and boom they ask for 300mm rockets. Now that would have been fine if it was the 300mm LRGR rocket by DRDO which is a short length 300mm rocket like Israeli EXTRA of <= 6m. They are asking for a fricking heavy 300mm smerch rockets of 7.6m length on a 6*6 truck.

There is a reason medium and heavy MLRS exists, pinaka and himars are medium ones, smerch and phl16 are heavy ones. If IA RFI making guys were students, I am pretty sure they would have been first from bottom.
