what a rubbish reason to remove sssd. your bharat "electronics" is a big gun company??? these genrols are pure mad sometimes
This is done so as to ensure the company that could potentially get the contract does not go bankrupt during production and has the capacity to produce the weapon/product at the scale needed by the forces. BEL has turnover of nearly ₹23,000 Crores, though their experience in manufacturing firearms is questionable, this is why they’ve collaborated with Berreta, a reputed Italian firearms manufacturer.

aise to fir koi company scratch se grow hi nahi kar payegi?

that's the game, i suppose you are using murican stories of valuation games as baseline, that's mostly a murican silicon valley phenomenon. core engineering oriented business world works very differently.

in general, core engineering companies usually grow incrementally not exponentially, based on their delivery on previous contracts, first they will have to convince the market that they are good at delivering 5 cr, then 10 cr, then 20cr and so on. depends on the owners, if the owner is risk taking kind, the money they get from one contract, they invest to build capacity and capability to take on bigger orders. etc. in some businesses, it takes decades to reach 100 cr revenue per year.

SSSD is already a maverick, they are front loading product R&D upfront even before they have sufficient orders, which is quite rare in India and the world. let's just hope their plan works, their success might create more mavericks . not sure what their current revenue is.

How are they structured?

AFAIK, SSSD is just the Defence division of Stumpp Schuele & Somappa Springs, which is a 60+ year old established engineering company. Their About page says they crossed turnover of $100 mil (860 cr) in 2012, some market research sites (link below) say their current revenue is $267 mil (2,300+ cr).

CIN is different for SSS and SSSD, SSSD must be a separate registred company, under SSS group of companies.

The Corporate Identification Number (CIN) for SSS Defence is U31909KA2017PTC100621. This company is also registered with the Registrar of Companies in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The registration number (CIN) for Stumpp Schuele & Somappa Springs Private Limited is U29299KA1996PTC038742

Yeah apparently m7 is going to top trench warfare alongside it
Honestly apart from a UBGL, I don't believe a standalone one makes any sense in a trench scenario where the movement is limited. Standalones have been extensively used for DA raids and naval ops as well.

In trench warfare ubgl comes in handy when you have to react quickly and you are moving in confined space
I still think standalone launcher are more versatile and are better overall if you train right

Stupid take, no offense. Its almost like the sig 556 family of rifles, its actually pretty well designed for ones.

I think it could be even implimented into SF, but it would need a better buttstock, maybe like the SCAR and a good sleek aluminium handguard.
Bruh! You gotta be kidding me

JVPC and this carbine looks like one of those toy guns you find in a village fair both from a finish and design standpoint. If not for Atmanirbhar, do you really think IA's kickback genrols would actually go for this abomination!! Even airsoft rifles these days have achieved parity with the best of western firearms. I'd rather pay Caracal for their CAR-816 license manufactured by some local firm and pass it off as MII

I've seen much smaller companies with <10 employees make significantly better guns than this 💩. In a recent gun show that I attended, I came across this guy who previously worked at a mediocre firearms firm and now setup a small company where him and his brother started making rifles and carbines, all in their modified garage where they bought a bunch of used equipment for their machine shop and I kid you not, their quality was on par with the likes of PSA or BCG
