all the critics of ARDE carbine coming out without realising or deliberately avoiding things like
> this is first time an IDDM design that too of milled (machined) receiver is getting L1 here, beating international competition
> design is of two piece sectioned receivers with top and bottom receivers both milled, and that it's influenced by SIG 540 / 550 design (and those series firearms are stamped sheet receiver designs to start with), overall a very M4-ish configuration here
> this design gives a very steady base to top rails so any optics on it will not be facing issues like zero shift, unlike any aftermarket top railed cover on any upgraded AK or INSAS (although a dedicated long range optical scope makes no sense on this carbine configuration, still it's damn good to have such a sturdy top railed platform for any Zeiss Z-point chhap reddot or BEL Trinetra Holographic sight)
> this design has handguards mounted with pins = easily removable if needed, unlike AK or INSAS ones which requires a flathead screwdriver like tool to lift up and rotate that handguard latch around to disengage it
> also handguards aren't completely tactical BUT still has provisions for affixing sections of rails aside and bottom has a small piece of rail for verticle grip, so overall more than enough
> that it's basically a Kalashnikov fork in two piece receiver design, means our jawans can easily be trained on it for any field strip level maintenance
> that ergonomically it's same as INSAS with that placements of 1A SLR chhap folding knob charging handle and fire selector, so training our guys on it wouldn't take much efforts
> that it has INSAS styled flip- up aperture sight and fixed front post, so training...as said above
> and all criticism of muh fits and finish...
guess folks here haven't even looked much at all available photos in this year of 2025 to say such nonsensical things... it's already miles better than what we got previously in INSAS here
> that it feeds from same INSAS pattern 5.56x45mm magazines and fires same ammunition (hopefully it also fires 5.56x45mm INSAS ammo along with NATO spec 5.56x45mm, unique among all contenders), so commonality is also here (although old school INSAS magazines are notoriously bad for cracking up and reliability issues, nowadays FAB made polymer magazines are coming to take their place, plus new lines of non transparent black coloured INSAS magazines are already there, so overall a great chance to ease up already cumbersome logistics here)
> that it's got a side folding buttstock from factory configuration, yeah yeah it's not so tactical as it doesn't have adjustable length, but for a short handy weapon like this it's overall fine, huh...BSF inducted thousands of 9mm Beretta MX4 "carbines" that already has fixed buttstock and feeds from (for us) proprietary Beretta 92 pattern extended magazines that we also had to induct along with that, for example
> Niche but, it comes with a Bayonet, hehe
and last but not least
> MOST IMPORTANTLY IT'S GOING TO TAKE PLACE OF WW2 ERA STERLING "9MM CARBINES" IN OUR ARMY, AN OPEN BOLT SMG THAT HAS KILLED LOTS OF OUR JAWANS BY MISFIRES
so in all merits, it's a perfect replacement for any domestic need for a CQB carbine in that configuration
I don't get all this stupid ill-informed complaints in tone REEE IT'S NOT AS GOOD LOOKING AS M4 OR OTHER PHOREN TACTICAL CARBINE REEE
kya chahte ho bhai, jo mil raha woh itna bhi bura maal nahi hai ki ab taktikool idealism ke liye isko dar kinare karne lago, yeh bhi toh dekho ki yeh Sterling jaise kachre ki jagah lene wala hai, aur overall sab essential modern aur saath me army ko compatible ho waise features toh he hi isme...kya fakt handguards bulky hai "extended upto muzzle" nahi hain is liye taarak mehta ke popatlal ke jaise "KENSUL KENSUL" kar doge ?
baki jisko fits, finish ka doubt hai, ya looks pasand nahi hai, unko koi photo daal kar explain nahi karne wala iss baar, khud dhund le, last time DFI pe @vampyrbladez isi carbine ko khara khota suna raha thaa tab lamba sa post daal ke ek ek cheez photo edit kar ke point kar ke bataya thaa ki jaisa criticise kar rhe ho utna bura nahi hai,
last me toh ek hi type ki baato par baar baar discuss kar ke bore ho gya hu agar itne lambe samay se defense forums par ho toh discuss na karo toh chalta hai at least cheezo ko objectively le kar samajna toh shuru karo
agar samaj naa aae ya doubts ho toh puchh liya karo koi problem nahi hai, par yeh "criticism for sake of it, dikhne me sec c nahi and just because it's desi PSU ka maal so it must be baaaad" wala mudda ab outdated, deprecated ho gya hai...
