Indian Small Arms and Weapons (9 Viewers)

man the recoil with this thing is insane considering it is 5.56 and chamber pressure should be tad bit lower, i hope bharat forge/ kalyani modify it a bit and make it comfortable enough for jawans, the gun needs to be a bit more stable right?
All Recoil problem can be solved using shooting stance but in Indian we don't have any 1000027366.webp

For tavor and m4 replacement sss m72 makes more sense and more logical than arad if it satisfies army in performance it will able to fire insas 5.56 x 45 and nato 5.56 and its not 🪛
But knowing how whats gonna happen its just my khyali pulav but with new ARDE carbine as L1 you never know
With "certain" improvement (buttstock, furniture , you can add more) 14" ARDE carbine would also do i guess similar platform but again i don't see it happening it just make more sense

Nothing like that , they will not be qualified bec of that stupid turnover limit of the mod Small prvt company are not even allowed to compete let alone trial.

Have heard ceos of such companies literally begging to army for trial they even offered to give the gun for free just to get user inputs

You see that turnover limit is an universal practice in the industry. Whether we like it or not. Basically this is how it goes western countries as well. That's why they have separate programme for such small companies for smaller batches of order.

army should explore the option of ARDE carbine 15" with certain improvement army will already have more than 4 lakh of thease rifle it would be better than having two different carbine in 5.56 x 45 and one can't even fire your insas 5.56x 45

Is it even practical to spend money of modifying guns?
Older insas can just be given to police forces and village guards
They do look nice though, I think it’s okay if the issues are ironed out with this new magazine design by FAB Defense. The INSAS family (especially the LMG) is not going anywhere for a while, it is no joke to phase out a gun where more than a million+ have been produced.

The ARDE-Bharat Forge/SAF Kanpur 5.56x45mm CQB Carbine has a barrel length of approximately 11.8 inches/300mm.

That is incredible! It's a compact carbine with the performance of a 14.5 inch barrel.

If only they could have added a much better collapsible stock with a Picatinny Rail attachment.

I wonder if a telescopic stock with a Picatinny Rail adaptor would work with this design.

We have already implemented a telescopic stock with the JVPC.

The upper receiver of the CQB Carbine has space on the sides for a modified telescopic stock.

Telescopic buttstock of MSMC / JVPC is annoying, i had gotten a brief review on it by hammerhead sirji himself years ago when MSMC just got renamed as JVPC, as per him it digs to chin and cheek, becomes loose and wobbly a bit after use and he didn't like it that a soldier can literally pull it out and off the weapon if he keeps buttstock release button depressed and pulls it further the stop on it (though it also could be a design feature because even muh HK MP7 collapsible buttstock is just like that, for example, it is probably kept that way for disassembly reasons, but yeah it's not much "soldier proof" that way)

I personally think they can rather bring new design of receiver end cap with Asmi's fixed length side folding buttstock for JVPC as a minor upgrade, that design also has a curved raised section near receiver as a cheek support so it won't be uncomfortable too and as a fixed length side folding design it's not gonna wobble much and will keep the overall design of weapon compact

any DRDO ARDE AWEIL SAF etc guy reading my post, take notes please

or, they can rather just put verticle folding picatiny buttstock adapter on all JVPC, Asmi, this 5.56mm Carbine etc all and provide a common picatiny mounted buttstock there
