You guys are being too much blackpilled. Go touch some grass duh. India has been at worst time. You guys forgetting we had nothing indigenous at all at one point in time. Atleast we have become self reliant in many things in last few decades. We used even import ammunition. So calm down. And don't think too negatively. Have patience things takes time to improve. I thought atleast we will buy some quantity of Rafale in G2G and that will help but there's no point paying the premium on it if Meteor can't be used.

I haven't been this blackpilled for a long time over the state of the air force.

There is no hope for the future either, even selling the country to the US as a vassal will not mean much as they will just include us and Paki in their ((( allies ))) harem like Greece & Turkey, where neither of the two dare attack the other conventionally, except Turkey doesn't support terrorists against Greece.

TLDR we could get those AIM-120 wundermissiles but we won't be able to use them against the deserving country.

Another reality check, even if we had Meteors, it would've been downgraded export versions, not actual ones. No country sells the same missile variants they use themselves, even pakis use downgraded PL-15E. Same with SCALP missiles, no wonder one of them malfunctioned and crash landed midway instead of hitting Sargodha airbase while the BrahMos missiles struck the targets unchallenged.

Pure junk of a deal. Raked in $1.2 bn for "India specific enhancements" - Not happened. Question... will the french ever buy any military hardware from India even if they have the requirement and Indian system is actually best suited for them overall? I don't think so, as they think of us as mere customers not partners. Otherwise they would've onboarded us in the Rafale weapons package, and included our missiles with the aircraft as OEM package. Why? Because Rafale doesn't even have an anti-radiation missile, and guess what, they will repeat the same circus if you go to them to integrate Rudram-3 missiles which the "inferior Russian Flankers" are firing effortlessly. The entire deal is a sham, if not a scam.

I'm just asking you guys to calm down. You guys cry too much. This is the issue with Indian defence nerds. A few years later some guys here would be crying about how Op Sindoor too was useless. Have some faith. And atleast appreciate things which are good. And what this country has become other the year. Being critical of certain aspects is fine. But being overly pessimistic and exxaggarating every problem is not a good thing. Assuming that nothing will happen, nothing will change is a very myopic view. Because this country has changed overtime. You guys have seen it yourself overtime. Things could always improve. I also think we shouldn't exaggerate the positives too.

Blackpilling contribute very little to the discussions. Because it always has a predetermined outlook of "Nothing will improve", "Nothing will change", "Nothing will happen". Yet in real world things happen for good or bad, best or worst. So there is the possibility of things improving as well. Just like there is possibility of something going bad.

I'm not asking anyone to be overtly optimistic either. But I'm just saying being too pessimistic and theory crafting something bad will happen is not helpful. We should avoid that.

I am not denying the possibility of the French buggers being stingy. They probably could have stopped the integration process over money.

So by July 2022, we had 35 rafale F3R and 1 rafale F3RI(ISE), the plan was then to upgrade those remaining 35 jets to ISE standard over time.

Now that last 36th rafale, can fire meteor, the meteor integration on it was done in 2021 during testing along with integration and testing of meteor on French airforce rafale, which declared the missile "combat-ready" with French airforce on March 4 2021.

So meteor integration on rest of 35 rafales was supposed to done along with their upgrade to ISE standard.

Now that's where the problem rises, there has been delay by French side on upgrading the rest of rafalse to ISE standard, some have been upgraded but lot of fleet is not upgraded to ISE standard even now, even though according to the plan by now most of our rafales should have been upgraded to ISE standard by now


So that's the meteor saga, and also why frenchies were becoming Dhanwan with fuselage local production in india and other things.

Frenchies are trying to get more Rafale orders in exchange of expediting Meteor integration no doubt. And we're not giving up on Astra and SAAW integration either. There were 13 ISEs I believe.

4. Low band jammers
5. Meteor, SCALP and MICA all three were to be integrated together

Frenchies are trying to get more Rafale orders in exchange of expediting Meteor integration no doubt.

We already paid extra for those Meteors as part of ISE package, there should be no additional expectations by frenchies to fulfill the contract already paid for.

If our rafale hvnt meteor BVR missiles, why they flying near border to get hit by pakistani missiles??? they can easily shoot SCALP missiles from 500 km range. where no pakistani sam nd bvr missile can hit it. seems like our planners r stupid. if we r not targetting pakistani aircrafts, then rafale should launch SCALP from 250 km far away LOC. Logistics and supply chain cant be justified for just 35 rafales in future
