Indian Air Force: News & Discussions (64 Viewers)

Why do they keep making those Toblerone shaped 270 degree ones and no 360 degree disc shaped ones?
Mk2 and Mk1A are 300°. Mk2A will be 360°.

POTUS & VP openly lobbied India to buy F35, ppl at such high levels don't usually openly lobby for a particular platform, they really want India to buy it. Of course, they are expecting something in return from India.

May be turn QUAD into a military alliance which India seems to be avoiding or something else, but I don't doubt US wants to sell it.

Please go back and check the sequence of events.

They said they would work towards the India getting the F35, eventually. And Trump and Vance say a lot of bs.

LM said something about India needing to buy the F16/F21 first before being 'ready' for the F35.

It ain't happening, period. Especially India getting the Israel 'deal' with integration of our weapons and systems, which even an ally/stooge like the UK did. Absolute bs imho.

Even if by some fucking miracle this gets cleared by the congress, it will come with a million strings attached, which is simpl6not acceptable to the IAF.

As i said, this isn't happening, ever.

This absolute bs about a credible and real offer on the table for the F35 after all the crap they've pulled with supporting Pakistan... People are gullible as hell on here. 😂

I cannot take you folks seriously ever again if you really believe this tosh, that the US is going to sell us F35s with full Indian system integration when 80% of our hardware is Russian and we are using the S400.

Geopolitically, anybody with a braincell would see that the US is not aligned with us and tacitly supports our biggest enemy.

You really think they would sell us their most prized hardware?

The orange retard never made a real offer. Lockheed Martin were non comittal as well, clearly saying we will be 'ready' for the F35 in the future sometime, when we start buying the F16s they've been peddling for a while.

😂😂

If you are the same Binayak on DFI then 🙏

Kids who are new here, listen to what he says.

My info is based on interviews of ex IAF top honchos as per IAF SU57 will fit perfectly with existing russian gears like SU30, S-400 etc will almost full control on life cycle upgrade for SU57 MKIs.

i dunno how you can take su 57 without considering

1. russia's industrial capability (or lack thereof)
2. geopolical landscape (getting slapped by USA)

you would basically be getting shitted on by by the USA for planes that may or may not even show up.

The main frontal RCS problem afaik is that it doesn't have the S-shaped intakes, you can see the jet blades from the front, and so can the radar, they have attached some jugaad device infront of the jet engines though to reduce RCS but it doesn't help much

The little gol-matol IRST thing on the front also hurts RCS but i'm not sure by how much

ofc for the intakes you'll have to redesign the whole jet.
Why didn't sukhoi just went ahead with su47 berkut rather than this 4.5 gen wanna be 5 gen design

Russia delivered warship an s400 3rd batch while being in full scale war .

Burgers delivered 1 f404 engine in 4 years with full production capacity and 0 apache for army.

So it's the f35 which will never arrive, su57 can arrive if we build locally.

I don't think AMCA will die. Because I don't see us purchasing more than 2 squadron of F-35. More than that would be too expensive of a deal. 2 Squadron of F-35 is enough for Pakistan but not for China. For that we still need a 5th generation aircraft which we can get in a huge numbers. So AMCA is a necessity. Even if F-35 comes, AMCA will live.

India will not get even a single F-35 as long as it has the S-400 system. There is no way the Pentagon or the US Congress will allow for the sale of F-35 to India.

Shiv is being careful as far as his words go, the amount of Russian BS we have had to put up with thanks to institutional inertia is unreal.

From lackadaisical support for the Kashtan CIWS to engine troubles to Titanium forgings for the Sukhoi ALs, to completely stonewalling our domestic R&D vis-a-vis tanks, the list is endless. and sad.
Honestly, all this nonsense will keep happening until our leadership truly understands the importance of developing critical infrastructure and capabilities at home. I was watching a seminar hosted by some former DRDO personnel, and you could clearly hear the frustration in their voices. It’s obvious they’ve been raising these concerns for years, yet very little has been done. And the host was ruther frustrated about the foreign lobby aspect as well. Afterall, no seller would want its buyer to be less dependent on him. So it is natural for them to create hurdles in our path to self reliance..

We can't keep running to foreign countries every time we need something. The French have their own games, the Russians are no better, and the Americans haven’t exactly been reliable either. Yet we continue to live under this delusion that just because we buy high-priced systems from them, they’ll hand us 100% technology transfer and genuinely support our indigenous efforts. That’s simply not how the world works.
