Pakistan Economy (2 Viewers)

Best line from that entire article :

"From the chart below, we see that a full 41% of Pakistan’s energy mix is gas, and as the years go by, most of that will be LNG imported through the terminal at Port Qasim in Karachi. This is another critical vulnerability for, if that LNG terminal were ever to be put out of action, the impact on its industry and economy would be devastating."

Easy pickings for next conflict. Poora power outage in Pakistan.
That's what we should have done
But we didn't
I know that we have missed a huge opportunity

Man, Chinese are milking it like there is no tomorrow from their so called "Iron brother". All those solar panels are imported from China. So that's money for China. And then all the electricity generated costs they have to pay for Chinese companies regardless of whether it is utilized or not. They are milking them to the hilt here. Who is not envious of their deeper than ocean, taller then himalayas, stronger than steel, sweeter than honey relationship?

and for CPEC power projects chini built:

- money was given by chini banks,
- executed by chini companies
- all of complex machinery and equipment came from chin
- hi-tech labour came from china
- presumably cement and low tech labour came from within pakiland.

most of the money that came from chin as loans with high interest costs, went back to chin during construction phase itself, leaving hardly anything locally except debt, on DFI we had noticed that they were paying a lot more per GW installed capacity than India pays. on top of this, as you mention comes the ops contracts adding another layer of fleecing.

as i keep saying, akal and NEP (nazariah-e-pakistan) never go together.

That's true. Chinese are living up to their name of screwing every country who allies with them. Not too far in the future they will be scrapping bottom of the barrel to extract anything from Pork awam. It's no wonder Chinese are lending loans in their own currency to them not in dollars. This will intertwine them even more with their economy while their Jernils chase dollars and beg Americans.
