PC Builds, Electronics and Home Appliances Thread

I had same issue with Sony Vaio top end bought decade and half ago.. had latest Intel and Nividia in smallest form factor- yet it croaked within 5 years. Graphics card melted everything inside. I just wanted laptop for mobility.

I am slowly inching towards decent PC + cheap laptop combo. PC only for local dump and sometimes video editing stuff etc (havent done in some long time on laptop) and use laptop to remote desktop it - when needed.

So any suggestions for PC - what should I get config? Its more than 2 decades I scourged market for latest h.w for getting pc built.
If your budget is around 60k I will recommend rtx 4060 8gb graphics card and an i5 12400f combo with a b760 ddr5 mobo(msi bomber wifi will be good) with 16gb(8+8) ddr5 ram also a decent nvme ssd for storage like crucial p3(512gb) all powered by a 550w psu like msi mag 550bn. You can use any case even the one you already have.

Depends what is your requirement i will always suggest amd as it is good for gaming as well as productivity. Let me know your budget
Amd is not very good for productivity though for gaming it's bang for the buck

thanks 60000 should be good 32gb + ram , nvidia 4060 , liquid cooling. and a case which is reliable and expandable. Would like it to be remote machine, so should i go for two wifi cards? one for internet(dynamic) or static internal ip? Any suggestions good complete config without getting poached by the assemblers?

Guys tell me good laptop with good graphics card? Need sturdy laptop with good cooling and light weight. Serviceability of laptop should be good
How much grapic power you need ??
What are the apps and usecases for you ? Productivity or gaming ? Screen quality, Hz ?

dont need monitor, will be making use of existing spare small led tv. I would like to run some github projects for experiment on computer vision. i am green horn in that area, and perhaps try some video editing tool or run midjourney like application offline

12400f is a very tamed cpu so it doesn't need liquid cooling even the stock cooler thats comes with cpu will be fine, if you want something extra you can buy some good air cooler like deep cool ak400.
For cabinet you can get something like cooler master k380.
32gb ddr5 6000mzh Wil be surely expensive you can buy 2 of this from MD computers they are reliable sellers https://mdcomputers.in/product/cruc...MI4-yK3bbUiwMVfyuDAx0DCjZ4EAQYCCABEgKqUfD_BwE
Msi rtx 4060 is cheap and good.
I have already mentioned name, model of other parts in the previous reply.
If you live in a metro city buying stuff offline will be lot cheaper otherwise
For buying pc stuff online
Websites like vedant computers, elite hubs, primeargb and MD computers are reliable far more then amazon. You can also visit r/IndianGaming subreddit for assurance
Always check prices online before buying stuff offline otherwise you will get scammed
Stick with reputed brands like asrock, gigabyte, Asus, msi, zotac for mobos and graphics cards.

Where will you buy though do you live in Delhi for msi products i recommend SMC international just check this msi motherboard prices compared to others .

Guys, do weigh in your opinions on this

I currently have a 4060ti with 8GB VRAM, and yeah it's getting weak with new game installations nowadays (I mainly run flightsim, and the 2024 version is eating up my vram a lot).

Should I just get a 4060 with better vram or wait for the 5060 to release?

just wait for 5060 but go for better vram , games nowadays are becoming luxury. 8GB vram has become minimum requirement which will go to 12GB in near future.

If you just Wana play games buy an amd card
7800xt is a bang for the buck, shouldn't have bought 4060ti it just doesn't make any sense.

Waste of money upgrading to the 4000 pro 5000 series. Wait until they are cheaper.

All right PC guys - If Blender like applications are to be run and as told some video editing software, along with running MidJourney/Chatgpt locally.

Can you tell me for 32GB RAM, 4070TI Nvidia, what motherboard (with built in WiFi (Dual )), What Good Processor , What cooling , What Case, What fans I can use. I am getting super confused on pcpricetracker.
Is liquid coooling good or air cooling could work. Is it for CPU, whole case or just for graphics card.

I am noob. Note PC can be used for gaming too - esp distant related kids who occasionally come in and might want to hook oculus ripoff kind of oculus kind of stuff

PLease answer as if I am total noob and guide me accordingly. I will not understand shorthands. Last PC build I had seen of my friend was with Pentium 3/4

Budget again 50-60. But can strtech if convincing but wont spend 90+

Since your budget is low, go with AMD processor and GC.
You will need to sacrifice on liquid cooling with your budget.

Best is to play around on PCprcetracker, post link of your build with cost and ask for suggestions.

Again, with your price range, go with AMD. You won't gain much performance improvements with nvidia at that budget.

All right for performance how much and on what stuff should i stretch? Again pcpricetracker - i am noob, i am even not sure which component to choose over which.
i played and my jaw dropped. And i am not even sure what and why i picked. only two components i knew ram and nividia

CPU with more cores are better for this use case which leads to AMD CPUs which have options from 2 core to 16 and even more. I am out of touch with PC specs for long now.
As mentioned by @Prasad - try few builds on PC part tracker.

Yeah mate - I just need few pointers for each components what i should looking for - what price range and what brands. A I said I dont even understand need for two set of RAMS, two set of HDDs, two set of coolers, how many and where the fans are required. WHat motherboard should i go for without getting sucked in for useless stuff.

For processor get amd ryzen 7600x
Any b650 mobo will work like msi bomber wifi b650, even if mobo doesn't have wifi you can buy USB wifi adapter for rs100 or if you want faster internet just connect your wifi to pc using ethernet cable its faster that's what most people do
Air cooling is fine some of the good air coolers outperforms liquid cooler 4070tis are mostly air cooled no other parts except cpu and GPU need any cooling case fans are needed to push hot air out of the case and bring new in for cpu colling get deepcool ak400 it's more than fine.

For case fans get antec p12, if you like rgb get deepcool cf120.
For psu msi mag 750bn or mwe 750 bronze will work

. Case does not add anything to performance get anything you like just check it's length and gpus length make sure they fit 4070tis from different brands have different dimensions msi mag 120a should fit any 4070ti.

Idk how you goona fit 4070ti in 90k budget it's impossible such a built will easily cross 1.2 lakh mark

If you Wana stick to 90k budget stick to vanilla 4070 and amd ryzen 7600 (non x) and for now stick to 16gb ram(8+8) config buy two more 8gb sticks later on keep everything else same.

Build around a Ryzen 7600 CPU, RX 7600 V2 OC 8GB or a 12 GB RTX 3060 GPU. If you need good cheap cabinet, there is a chinese company Lian Li. Unless you plan to overclock, you don't need liquid cooling. Maintaining good airflow inside the case will be enough. GSKILL Ripzaws DDR5 6000mhz RAM, buy 32gb (dual 16GB sticks if you can). Whether you want a mini ATX or ATX motherboard, is up to you. A B650 chipped board is fine. For PSU a simple Corsair CX 650 is fine. For storage don't be shy on spending on Samsung 980 EVO SSDs.

A serious PC to run an editor like Blender will easily go above a Lac in INR. You basically need more CPU cores, GPU and higher capacity and speed RAM preferably running in Dual channel configuration.
These three alone will cost a bomb, with a decent spec GPU running above 25-30K INR.

Thanks @Corvus Splendens and @darkflame. 3060 also sounds good for controlling budget. I hope it allows all applications I need to run. Rest Darkflame - if I got for PC build then I am going to stick to components you guys listed out without me batting eye lid - as doing extensive research is unfeasible as I have no longer access to esteemed college group of banter and debates on what is good enough configuration of that day. Those days and discussions are long gone :)

I remember when I wanted my first PC I spent 1 month researching and another month scourging market for right price and quality. I had that PC for very long and in the end I gave it away in running good condition to somebody else.
