air com retd k kale is saying that both the engine failing is ultra rare, he is talking something about ram air turbine deployment with another commercial pilot sahab
Watched a lot of air crash investigations. The general guidelines given to pilots is first aviate and then communicate esp in case of emergencies. It is said the pilot was screaming mayday, but his radio got cut off
Is this because the plane crashed or the plane ran out of power or something else cut the radio?
yeah i wasnt accusing anyone, i was just pointing out that nobody could have done anything to save the plane at that moment...If i was the pilot i would be dead too.
And i consider myself a decent pilot.
The plane crashed nearly 1 kilometer from the airport's runway:

No i didnt take it that way…yeah i wasnt accusing anyone, i was just pointing out that nobody could have done anything to save the plane at that moment...
This is not the time for any of your personal grouses against Air India to be aired. If you have nothing of value to add, maybe you should take a break from posting on this thread. Hundreds of people are dead, some decency is called for.But staff is still the same. Sarkari babu , Indian uncle don’t want to work.
Something relating to engine thrust at a small altitude caused the crash.@COLDHEARTED AVIATOR sirji, what are your thoughts?
Can you confirm it's not because of flaps not deployed by looking at the recent images ..engine flame out without any smoke a rarest event .Something relating to engine thrust at a small altitude caused the crash.
Everything else like hydraulic failure, electrical failure, smoke in cabin etc could not have caused the plane to sink in so fast.
400 ft agl is too less for any pilot to pull off any stunt.
Not to sound repetitive..but 90% of accidents are caused by pilot error ..So twin engine failure is a fault of Boeing or maintenance?
Western media will spin this as our fault, either the airline or pilot.
Boeing doesnt manufacture engines. So twin engine failure is a fault of Boeing or maintenance?
Western media will spin this as our fault, either the airline or pilot.
Not to sound repetitive..but 90% of accidents are caused by pilot error ..
Its not pilot error its called human factors. Not to sound repetitive..but 90% of accidents are caused by pilot error ..
What would cause the engines to fail, bird hits, poor maintenance..No i didnt take it that way…
But you could put the best pilot in the world and dual engine fail at 400 ft is Goodbye from Earth for them.
Bird hit..poor maintenance..both..What would cause the engines to fail, bird hits, poor maintenance..
