Finding History in Dwarka waters!
A five-member ASI team, led by Prof. Alok Tripathi and assisted by Sh H. A. Naik and Dr. Aparajita Sharma, has begun underwater explorations off Dwarka, marking a milestone in maritime archaeology studies in India.
The team identified an area off Gomati creek for the initial investigations. The team dived to understand bathymetry of the area and other remains of archaeological interest. The other team members are Ms Poonam Vind and Ms Rajkumari Barbina.
It is for the first time that so many archaeologists participated, actively, in the ASI's underwater investigations. Also, it is noteworthy that three of the team members are women.
