On April 19th, the first-ever robot HALF-marathon took place in Beijing. As the starting gun fired, 20 robot teams powered up and embarked on the 21-kilometer challenge. But the race was filled with mishaps, leaving spectators and those following the event stunned. Some robots lost their heads mid-race, others collapsed at the start, some spun in circles, and others fell down with cramps. The only "beautiful" lady robot, "Huanhuan," malfunctioned right at the start and was forced to leave.

The idea for the race came from a challenge published in the Paris newspaper Le Matin on 31 January 1907, reading:
"What needs to be proved today is that as long as a man has a car, he can do anything and go anywhere. Is there anyone who will undertake to travel this summer from Paris to Peking by automobile?"
Eventually the race started from the French embassy in Peking on 10 June 1907. The winner, Prince Scipione Borghese, arrived in Paris on 10 August 1907.
On January 31, 1907, the French newspaper Le Matin published a challenge that caused a great sensation. The article read: "Does anyone want to drive a car from Paris to Beijing this summer?" At first, all readers shook their heads in denial. After all, it was only 21 years since the world's first car and only 13 years since the first automobile sports event in human history. In 1894, the first automobile race was held in Paris, France, starting from Paris and ending in Rouen. Only 15 of the 21 contestants completed the race. However, today, this adventure starts from Paris to Beijing, which is 100 times longer than "Paris to Rouen".
