China’s ghost stations show a nation haunted by debt

An infrastructure boom linked to the country’s property bubble has collapsed, leaving empty apartments, stranded railways, and councils unable to pay teachers

China’s Subway Boom Becomes a Financial Nightmare as Project Racks Up Trillions in Debt

Amid China’s efforts to rapidly modernize and pull itself out of economic turmoil, a financial paradox is unfolding beneath its city streets. Long seen as symbols of urban modernization, subway systems across the country are grappling with staggering losses and spiraling debt.

According to multiple recent reports, subway companies across 29 Chinese cities collectively owe over 4.3 trillion yuan (USD$590 billion) in debt, sparking concerns over the sustainability of these massive infrastructure projects. Despite expanding networks and increasing ridership, transit systems in China have struggled to break even, with most relying heavily on government subsidies to get by.

Why nations with Catholic + Spanish colonization + USA dependent like Mexico and Philippines good at corruption and drugs?

This is why need world government?

Mexico failed in industrialization but good at drug production and trafficing.

How Fentanyl Producers in Mexico Are Adapting to a Challenging Market

What percentage does Fentanyl contribute to the GDP in China ? 5-10% or more ?

Further why isn't it listed in your exports ? Or perhaps it is listed under the heading of "Other Items ? "

Just trying to figure out the mechanics of the Fentanyl trade economics in China. @rockdog

China mainland + HK is around 6x GDP as India, so if 10% of GDP is about fentanyl, which accounts 70% of India's current GDP. Is that possible? Or India's GDP is as low as another's nations' illegal industry would compare with?

Drug users in China

The share of drug users in China's population is far below the world average. As of December 2022, the country had 1.12 million drug users, accounting for only 0.08 percent of the country's population. Men under 35 are at higher risk of being addicted to illegal substances. Unlike drug trafficking, drug use is not a criminal offense in China, yet drug addicts apprehended by the police are almost always sent to compulsory isolation and drug rehabilitation centers, where they are detained and treated.

Challenges associated with drug use

Like in most other countries, drugs have led to considerable complications in China's society. Blood-borne diseases such as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) are more common among drug addicts due to the use of shared syringes for intravenous drugs. Poverty caused by drug use has also led desperate drug users to engage in criminal activities. As the supply of drugs in China fell sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic, the prices of illicit drugs soared in the country, making them unavailable or unaffordable to their consumers.

that lady is young she is not an old chinese lady sick that needs a bed in fact there are more deaths in China per 1000 people than in Mexico due to a society that has no sex and does not have children.

Because you have death rate so you need more sex for more children?

are you trying to hypnotize me or is you teacher Gobbles?

I can see you repeat and repeat but never address any thing that puts your pride down specially your nationalistic propaganda such as the collapse of the BYD leadership, the CCP fentanyl precursors sales and one more important like a Japanese in 1905 you think your nation is destine to rule.

Like I said to you the Jews are the center of History, everything is about them but you are just a Chinese Samurai in 2025

In case Baidu mis translate wasn't clear I was enquiring what percentage of your GDP was fentanyl production ? I volunteered data - Was it 5-10% ? That was my question. Why are you so upset by it ?

And if you truly are upset why don't you persuade your handlers in the MSS to do something about it unless of course its state policy to export fentanyl to avenge the century of humiliation by the Gwailou ?

Perfectly understandable. In fact we completely support your decision. Gwailou completely deserves what's coming to them & so do you for precipitating such action unless you think they're going to sit on their backsides & watch you destroy their society.

Congratulations ! However when UK was trafficking opium to China using your Hanjian in the 19th century which was your century of humiliation , opium consumption among their people was negligible too.

You don't expect drug dealers to be consuming their own products do you ?
