2020s (up until 2025):​

  • Number of ODIs: Around 400-450 ODIs (as of 2025). The number of ODIs has started to stabilize, with fewer bilateral series due to the rise in popularity of T20 cricket and global events like the ICC World Cup (2019) and the ongoing importance of leagues like the IPL.

How ODI are being played has changed to 10-20 overs individual parts.

Looks like the era of Triangular/Quadrangular series may come back owing to better viewership and better revenue sharing.

T20s is becoming fun due to lot of battle changes every 2-3 balls. Withing this decade, we may see few teams becoming strong in T20.

Afghanistan already becoming competitive. Nepal, Uganda, PNG coming into international tournaments.

People have changed from 1980s to now. Less attention span, busy life leads to less time to spend whole day to cover ODI on TV sitting in your living room. There are much less ODIs schedule till 2027 ODI WC.

The 27 ODI WC itself will have 54 ODIs but apart from that whole ODI scene might have close to 50-60 ODIs.

The ICC calendar is prepared in advance and same for Bilateral series. It is tough to schedule Triangular series now as nations are now busy with the domestic T20 leagues and the national players are often available in same time span.​

There's a reason those triangular/quadrangular series stopped. Attendances and interest wasn't that much and it was worse if somehow the hosts didn't end up making the final. You're seeing a trailer of this in Padosiland now when home team is out how much interest there is.

Klassen was being stupid af today like he forgot to play markaram job was to rotate the strike and klassen hit he failed miserably

Asking rate was too much cause they are playing stupid bowlers again and again except for rabada all of the others are stupid avg bowlers maybe maharaj is decent and ngidi might have gotten wickets after getting banged he is one of the most toothless bowler in SAs history

My friend two years back during SA vs PAK CWC23 match told that bavuma will score 50 and get out.

Guy is consistent in this regard.
