Döner Kebab Republic of Turkey: Idiotic Musings

Wonder who's collaborating with them for this development ? It makes Turkey the 3rd Islamic country to possess IRBMs after Paxtan & Iran .

While both Paxtan & Iran got their tech from PRC & DPRK which should tell you a tale on the quality of their technology , I wouldn't put Turkey in the same category for they've something which the other 2 lack namely - depth of industry & access to western systems.

Not a good development from our PoV.

That's their SLV programme, not IRBM one.

Yes I know but once you've developed such space technology it's not a great leap into missile tech much like we transitioned from SLV to Agni.

Cute of you to think they're reaching the low earth orbit at all
I wouldn't take them lightly if I were you . Some of their achievements are vapourware not all of them. A good many of their projects are really commendable for what they've achieved.

Besides the scope of their ambitions are breath taking. Even if they achieve half of it , in my book it's a huge deal. Both RoK & Turkiye are coming out with very good products.

In space, you can't rely on chamchagiri like ToTs or importing foreign workers. It's a high-investment, high lead-time field that demands decades of experience and a well-established ecosystem. Without genuine, rigorous R&D, it’s difficult to establish a significant presence. Frankly, mentioning RoK and Turkey in the same sentence does a disservice to the former.

In another context, I wonder why there are no prominent scientists or engineers from this country in any field. In my field of heavy electricals, not a single paper or author comes from this country. Even sub-Saharan viswacoolies like us have managed notable achievements, groundbreaking papers, and inventions post-independence.
