It is less of the problem of transversing mountain passes, The problem here is in case of ATAGS firing, the soil in significant no. Of ( not all) areas in mountains is not strong enough to support the weight of atags let alone firing and atags digs into the soil or recoils back which can mess up with it's accuracy and a potential danger for the crew.
Now there are also areas with strong enough soil, but army also need the firepower and range in those areas where soil is more weaker.
So it's not the fault of atags, it's that in certain areas geography demands a lighter gun, so either go for another lighter gun with less range or make atags more lighter( along with some other jugaad to make it better sit down on the soil) while still enjoying the firepower and range.

Are we manufacturing new reason that an product is not suitable even though it passed all the trials being conducted by the same Armed forces?

The entire ATAGS is overweight is funny to see. Does an customer does not check the basic specs first before dragging them from Chennai to Leh, Jaisalmer to Tawang for firing trials. Because this news came after it completed trials in Coastal areas and in desert.

An common man can check the brochure spec but somehow IA cannot able to check them.

Secondly if an product failed an min criteria then it should be called an Failed. But somehow the scenario occured is

1. Coastal Trial - Success
2. Desert - Success
3. Leh, Sikkim, Tawang - Success

This what we have been hearing from Past that apart from ramkjet everything is being made in India. Difference is earlier indigenous contribution was expressed in value (which would be lower) and this time its most prolly expressed in terms of components.

I have heard per the joint venture contract some parts have to be imported from Russia only including the ramjet.

Hopefully we can make a fully indegenized clone of the once the ramjet is ready like how the Aakash missile is supposedly a clone of Kub missile( looks the same from the outside ).

Hahha. We forgot about poor NAG, IA out of nowhere asked an outrageous minimum strike range when even the Israeli ones don't have that capability. NAG ends up in drawing board and still being in Trials with no big order in sight.

Meanwhile Konkurs are getting purchased in big numbers, which is an wire guided ones but somehow does not worried about min striking range for them. But NAG needs to strike an ant, caterpillar, flying eagle to everything in Galaxy.

This is just propaganda now that ATAGS is heavy and cumbersome. It's shells that are going to be pounded on enemy not whole gun, so better to remember and better set out priority here.

Foreign gun will suffice since it is foreign.

Once ATAGS gets weight-loss some other "reason" will be provided.

MiG 29s crash regularly just like the MiG 21 and nothing happens.

Hypersonic missiles are a class of advanced weaponry that travel at speeds greater than Mach 5 i.e., five times the speed of sound or more than 5,400 km/hr. These advanced weapons have the potential to bypass existing Air Defence Systems and deliver rapid and high-impact strikes. Several nations including USA, Russia, India and China are actively pursuing Hypersonic technology. The key to hypersonic vehicles is Scramjets, which are air breathing engines capable of sustaining combustion at supersonic speeds without using any moving parts

The ground test of scramjet combustor showcased several notable achievements, demonstrating its potential for operational use in Hypersonic vehicles, like successful ignition and stable combustion. Ignition in a scramjet engine is like ‘keeping a candle lit in a hurricane’. Scramjet combustor incorporates an innovative flame stabilisation technique that holds continuous flame inside the combustor with air speed in excess of 1.5 km/s. Many novel and promising ignition & flame holding techniques were studied through many ground tests in arriving at Scramjet Engine configuration. Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation tools were used for their evaluation & performance prediction.

The indigenous development of endothermic scramjet fuel, the first time in India, jointly by DRDL and Industry is central to this breakthrough. The team developed a special manufacturing process to achieve stringent fuel requirements of DRDL at Industrial scale.
