Beyond the 105 gun turret and the SPAAD turret, WhAP already comes with CBRN protection, Remote MG and 30 mil turret options. I don't see how Army justifies this wasteful acquisition. I think one of the excuses delays behind WhAP/IPMV may be the CVRDE/Ashok Leyland JV 600hp Turbocharged V8 engine development.

So much potential in this platform we're hesitant to utilize. I get mulling F-35s in lieu of the absence of a comparable platform, still in development pipeline. But I can't for the life of me find a single reason to buy a stupid Stryker over an indigenous platform we already make and play with however we want. A platform that can easily gain a low recoil 105mm gun if we wanted. Or any assortment of Gun-Missile SPAAD capability. We already make Cockerill 3105 turrets for Zorawar.

We could easily have our own Sgt. Stout config. It's just a 20/30mil+7.62 coax on a turret with some ready to fire VSHORAD equivalents (Swappable with ATGM racks). And guidance via EO pod and X-band doppler radars.

In addition to this they will buy ~500 of the Stryker, with India Specific Enhancements jacking up the price, then in a few years will start bitching about how it falls over and it's pansy engine can't drive it's Proven American Lard-Ass up a small incline, basically all the same things we complain about here and on Twitter, then they will issue another Global Multi-Vendor Tender for more IFV/APC, WhAp will be excluded

Aside from Airbus recently they also saw like 3-4 French wheeled IFV/APC type vehicles so y'all can do 2 + 2 and see the future "road map"

WHAP already have an Cummins engine (600hp). AL/DRDO engine is not related to Whap. It was for FICV and bigger V12 for NGT project.
