DRDO and PSU's

To be honest, any private firm would have done the exact same thing if they were in competition with OFB. Everyone here tries to grab every possible opportunity to rip you off so why should OFB start a charitable trust.

Few years back I asked a prototyping firm about 3D printing an AR-15 pistol grip I had designed. And this was the quotation

I would have imported a proper Magpul grip and still it would have been hardly 3000 bucks.

Adani Defense is the DCPP for various DRDO missile projects like ULPGM, Rudram series, Nasm SR and even standoff PGM like LRGB Gaurav and Gautham.

However there's a catch.

Adani only manufactures the cold sections of these missiles in house. The hot section comprising the propulsion module which is a case bonded solid rocket motor casing, sustainer grains, booster casing and grains, nozzle assembly , thrust vector assembly comprising of vanes and actuators are sourced from others. Adani then does final assembly of the sections and modules and delivers the final product to the customer.

BDL, EEL, PEL manufacture the solid rocket motors and their grains. Infact, BDL mostly outsources the manufacture of solid motors and propellant grains to PEL and SEL. Premier Explosives limited is the sole supplier of SRM for many missile projects. Solar Group which is the parent company of Economic Explosives limited has also started solid propellant grains and rocket motors manufacture recently.

What happened to Pinaka MLRS thing? The Chinese have implemented two kinds of MLRS one for Short Range High Volume and another for Long Range upto 500km Medium Volume. The Chunmoo MLRS is able to combine all 130mm, 230mm, 400mm and 600mm in a single package but the bigger ones lack range.

What exactly is taking too much time that its been like a decade? Are they trying DRDO's own signature move of "Lets reinvent wheel again"?.

The last I heard, DRDO took up a project to develop a 300mm version this year after the GoI wasted 2 years trying to get a private company to do it.
As for those 500 km ranged rockets, those aren't really MLRS rockets (and certainly not medium volume) but tactical ballistic missiles, comparable with the likes of ATACMS and Iskander missiles. Indian analogue to that would be the Pralay series of TBMs which are being inducted as we speak.

No, the delays are due largely to the Army's reluctance to induct larger caliber rockets for whatever reasons and then the subsequent tom foolery of the government and DRDO isn't the one to be blamed here (for the most part anyway).

Does anybody knows how can Israeli atgms such as LAHAT and spike lr2 achieves such a long range while being very lightweight.

For comparison LAHAT can go 8km when launched from ground while weighing some 13.5kg while our SAMHO which is basically an Indian lahat goes just 5km while weighing 18.5kg. I know lahat is 105mm while SAMHO is 120mm missile but still, what kind of special yahoodi rocket motor do they use to achieve this much of a long range. Even spike lr2 has a great range compared to the whole missile weight.

Also We have got this good missile SAMHO in our arsenal and we could have used it to replace our man portable atgms such as konkurs and milans. This would have made improvements in the following factors such as weight of atgm system, range and hit probability of a laser guided missile is much greater than that of wire guided SACLOS ones. Also, in a net centric warfare, fire to grid coordinates could be included and further lased up by forward elements or nowadays a simple drone. This NLOS capability would have been a great asset anyway. But I think I am asking too much from our super 🧠 guys in IA, they would rather wait for 7th gen ATGM.

1. Higher Grade Propellent.
2. High percentage usage of Composites and Alloys.
3. Using Latest Electronics which are smaller and compact and as a result of miniaturization, weight decreases.
4. Juice special marketing mostly in ideal conditions.

I think we lack highly in 3 then in 1. 2 is not a problem for us.

This are just gimmicks this is maximum ballistic trajectory. Even the us doesn't have this advance rocket propulsion. Just like lora gimmicks of hitting at 500km.
They even claim Timur has a range of 70km.
A 90kg missile launched from ground.. impossible this is not only limited to lahat bruh.
The have sheer audacity to publish garbage ideal simulation data on paper.

You know after fake numbers of drishti starliner that totally indian drone i would not trust official number given by israel on any of thier major equipment

In my opinion, it's more like 1, then in 3.
