Just lpvo there are too many wrong things to point out a big usa naval officer doesn't know how to shoot even for photo ops
Note in usa even nobody who don't know anything knows how to shoot and how to use lpvo and proper shooting stance

Why is it such a big deal that he has to get fired for it? Mounting a scope backward? Can't believe that it would warrant destroying an illustrious career. I think it was just an convenient excuse to fire him due to political reasons.

It's a freaking rocket. You accelerate a mass m1 (the missile) with a velocity v1 from one end and exhaust gases with mass m2 and velocity v2 from other. As m1>>m2 and v1<<v2 the resulting momentum or kinetic energy whatever way you wanna go (conservation of momentum or energy) cancels each other. This is the reason CGRLs can shoot a 3kg projectile without sending your shoulder to the next district.

Also it's a high off-boresight missile. MISSILE...it guides itself. Even if you shoot it 30° off target it would hit it.

I think there is great opportunity for giving this to anti air mobile units, would be a killer weapon against treetop hugging helis. Could be tethered if necessary

No they teach you how to brace yourself and plant your foot in the ground as to manage the recoil and keep your aiming sight on target. You got the mass to deal with the recoil but a drone? It does not have the necessary mass or enough thrust to handle that recoil.
