Govt/MoD find a bulk order too expensive.

However now because of the fighter squadron crisis they seem more amenable to a Rafale order.
Dassault is also being sweet now with the fuselage production domestically and M88 MRO etc.

Anyway DRDO/HAL/ADA will be kept employed by these MWF/AMCA style mnrega projects, but they won't get big orders even if it's past the prototype and trials stage.

Mind you this is not to maintain sovereign capability to build fighter jets and weapon systems but to give sarkari karamcharis employed

Primary adversary produced 240 figter jets in 2024 alone! Missiles would be in multiples of thousands at the least and we can`t even discuss long range drones as there can be no indicators which will help guesstimate on probable numbers.

With AESA and AI edge computing getting good enough, ECM and jamming will be futile within this decade. This will end up being a disaster for us unless PMO steps in and directly takes over supervision of defense R&D and production kicking MOD out of the it completely

we can make our tejas mark 1a a very capable 4.5 generation fighter, by upgrading. these upgrade will cost extra 20-25 million dollars, but its worth it:-
1:- pod based MAWS.
2:- pod based infrared radar.
3:- quadruple pylon to carry above two pods, jamming pod nd targetting pod. dual pylon can carry more BVR nd WVR missile.
4:- cheaper ram coating on aircraft nd weapons.
5:- one or two long 250 km range BVR like isreali three pulse sky sting BVR missile.

But winning or loosing war is not possible in current world. Specially without end of days.
Yes we might loose battles and win some causing some ground and some respect loss but not a war .

Only that USA is a bad omen to be friend for any nation. They are like termites. They will sell their garbage and that too will be delayed by different governments.

Only way is keep away from these commi or American. Don’t be greedy and make a bad deal in hope of great deal. America runs on business of war and back stabbing. We have enough of them in our country no need to loose Dollar and go thousands of miles away.

That is why we should get that JV with France as soon as we can. That's the only way for us to get out of this mess. Will take years though. Atleast in case of UAVs there is a chance of reducing reliance on US for engines.
